  1. Howdy folks, just a few questions for the kind edge owners! On the 22 edge I have has lane departure assist but I’ve seen reviews and heard that the lane centering even on older edges was phenomenal. Is there any way to change the software or settings via forscan or another method to get the better lane centering over lane departure? also, global close, i Believe I saw an option and way to enable it, but wanted to confirm if anyone here has done it. thanks a ton!
  2. OBDLink, which makes the highly regarded bluetooth and wifi code readers LX, MX and MX+ now has a reader for those who prefer the speed and security of a wired reader. The new OBDLink EX is billed as being faster and more accurate than the wired units many Ford owners use now with FORScan and there's no switch to deal with. Here's a link: https://amzn.to/36xWwLP
  3. 2011 Edge Ltd - I changed the blink count in the turn signal duration from 3 to 5 (SCCM 724-01-01 7 to 'B' in Forscan). When I went to write it back to the SCCM, it said there is a checksum error - continue? First time I said no and tried a different value ('A') but the same thing. I wrote it anyway assuming Forscan would calculate the checksum before writing it. As soon as I switched off then on, I had a TRACTION CONTROL SERVICE REQUIRED notice on the display panel. The two idiot lights for traction control and traction control off were lit. I refreshed the connection to OBD and looked at DTC's and the ABS module had both a checksum DTC and an 'unknown value' codes set. I put my As built data back in the SCCM and cleared the ABS code and it was gone. Has anyone run into this error?
  4. So I guess I'll tackle replacing the non working / sporadic working back up camera in our 2011 Sport. I hate when stuff doesn't work right... Ive decided to use this camera from Amazon http://a.co/d/4lCEe0m, mainly because of the return option. I do want my gridlines (See above statement about things not working correctly) SO.... whats my best option for an OBDII reader to get in there and reprogram this thing? Is there one that we know works better than another? I've searched through our links but cant find the answer I'm looking for... Appreciate the help. Maybe i'll post a photo documented DIY while doing it since this is a reoccurring topic.
  5. This is a start to the series covering every PID (parameter ID) in the Forscan App and what they do to help. This is a sectioned series. I started out with some rather annoying sound but have figured it out and the 3rd series on should sound a lot better. Hope this helps some of you.
  6. It looks like Ford is eliminating everyone except those authorized by Ford from making any changes with the new FDRS system (Ford diagnostic and repair system). From what I understand the system is cloud based (so no stand alone systems) and requires a license & password along with the VIN of the vehicle. Therefor Ford has complete control of any mods. Looks like many 2018 Ford vehicles and all future models will no longer have consumer access for modifications. This is total BS! Personally I think it's important for those wanting to change or add features on the auto they own, to be able to do just that. If I want the push of my turn signal to be 5 flashes instead of 3, then I should be able to do that. If I don't want the 2 honk feature when exiting my car, then let me disable it. If I want the dash display to show the HVAC functions, then I should have that choice. If I want to add a key without paying exorbitant costs, I should be able to do that. If I'm missing something please chime in or if anyone has something to add, please do so...
  7. After a few days of research and thanks to an excellent write up from the G2 fusion forum, I was able to add Daytime Lights option to the left instrument cluster. I used OBDLink MX and Forscan (Windows 10) Link to G2 Fusion Info: http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4573 Here are the pics: Before and after: At the same time added Climate to the right instrument cluster
  8. A great tool to have is the OBDLink MX with the FORScan App from FORSCAN. I review the device and show how to install and use it with your smart phone (android only)
