  1. 2020 Edge Titanium. Marketing materials say that the Edge comes with acoustic glass windshield. The Titanium adds the same to the front door glass. Now the label on the front doors says right on it, accusing glass and Soundshield. The windshield has no such labeling. Is it indeed the case that the windshield is not acoustic glass? I've attached the portion of the car's brochure showing that is says it has it (highlighted) Brochure (dragged).pdf
  2. Last night was the first time since I bought my Edge back in June when I was driving home when it was both dark, raining and a lot of oncoming traffic (lights). Even though I have tried to keep everything clean, including high-quality window cleaner, I couldn't believe just how bad the crud on the windshield was. I had noticed that there were spots on the windshield while driving in rain during the day, but driving last night was horrible. With the lights from the other cars, I could barely see the road. Having seen the commercials for the Mothers glass cleaner, I found some at a local auto parts store and used it today. You apply and buff it like a wax - you can actually see and feel the difference on the glass when you use it. You can run a cloth over treated and un-treated areas and feel the difference. Before, I would run the wipers and see all of the marks. Now, the windshield looks clear. Wish I had taken a before / after video to show the difference. If you run your washer / wipers and see marks all over the windshield, this may help to clean things up.
  3. Good afternoon everyone! Seeing how my last post didn't even get one response, I wanted to see if any of my fellow Edge owners will post their opinion, solutions, or ideas to this post. I have a 2008 SE, and during my last car wash, I discover the rubber moldings that seals the privacy glass to the body is melting. It's literally melting. When I touch it, it's soft and gooey, it reminds me of wet tar. I went to the dealership, and they said they have no idea why it's doing that. They could replace it, but since I'm not under warranty, I'd need to pay over $300 out of pocket! Anyone ever experienced this? Any ideas what's causing it? Any DIY ideas? Thanks!
  4. My mother-in-law has an '07 Lincoln MKX with about 20,000 miles on it. So far she's avoided the vista roof BAMR horror stories, although I'm sure she rarely even opens the shade. I took the car to get an oil change today and when I began to open the shade, the rear shade on the drivers side began to wrinkle and was nowhere near as tight as the front shade or the passenger side of the rear shade. I pressed the close button to bring it back and the entire rear shade snapped back in the open position and rolled. I tried to gently pull the shade back out but it didn't seem to budge. The front shade and the BAMR still work fine. Any suggestions? Thank you.
