  1. Hello Everyone, I don't think this is a common thing but just wanted to make a note of it in case it begins happening to folks over the next few years. I have a 2019 Edge Titanium Elite (302A) with the adaptive swiveling LED headlights. Headlights are a tad confusing on the '19's since there are so many variations of them. From what I have seen there is the base LED equipped lights that SE's and SEL's could come with, the same base LED with the running light strip w/o turn signal strip that SEL's and Titanium's (300A and 301A) models came with, and finally there is the upgraded LED with running light strip and turn signal strip that 302A Titaniums and some highly equipped ST's came with. Anyone that has the 3rd model of headlight in their edge should also have headlight swiveling, but many '19's don't because Ford installed the wrong software at the factory. A dealer will kindly give you that feature that was on your build sheet back for around $250. I am not sure of any failure rates for these 3 styles of headlight, but mine are already dying after only a few short years. My left headlight has stopped swiveling and flickers on and off while driving. Normally people have said that Ford LED's will outlast the car, and while I expect that to mostly hold true, I thought making note of this could be a good idea. These lights are non-serviceable and require the whole 900+ dollar unit to be replaced if they go out. While LED's can be great, this non-serviceable trend becomes very evident when they fail. If anyone else has had this failure, feel free to comment below what it was like and which type of light you have, I am curious to see how all three types age. As for mine, the Ford ESP lighting upgrade is really going to come in handy .
  2. I was considering upgrading my stock halogen headlights to a HID system. I was looking at this system from https://www.xenonhids.com/dual-beam-hi-lo-9012-full-xenon-hid-conversion-kit.html?i=y3ezje If you could please advise if this is a good system to use to upgrade with. Also, I recently bought two new key fobs. I only have one key fob that was paired to the car. I put the vehicle in pairing mode and got the keys to lock/unlock the vehicle, remote start and panic all work great. However, the keys will not start the vehicle. When I try to use the key,the acc mode comes on just fine and then when turned over to start it says starting system failure. Did I do something wrong during pairing? I do not have the push to start nor do I have a power lift. The key and fob are all one unit. Thank you for the help.
  3. Hi there Everyone. I'm new to the forum. I'm from South Texas and I own a 2015 Edge SEL. Thanks for having me. Question: Does anyone have a clue what bulb size is the Front bumper Daytime Running Lights aka "Foglights" or as Parts Ford Rep stated Side markers. The Rep could not tell me because she stated it wasn't noted cause they only sell the entire assembly. I do plan on checking it myself when I have time. Just thought I'd ask before finding the time to get my hands dirty. I have included a picture below of what I am in search for. Btw, that is not my Edge on the photo. Thanks!!
  4. Hey everyone! New to the forum, and love it! Very informative! I bought a new (new to me) 2016 Edge Titanium. Absolutely love it. Awesome ride. The only disappointment is the factory HIDs. Not bright enough for me. I put a set of LEDs my other Edge that had factory Halogens. That was amazingly bright and loved the colour. Matched the fogs perfectly. In doing some research, it seems I can’t put the LEDs in my new ride with the factory HIDs. I’m currently trying to find a much brighter D3S bulb around the 6000K mark. Trying to find the same colour as the LED fogs. I’ve found a set of Osram blue boost that are aground 5500-5700K once their warmed up. A little pricy though but I don’t mind as long as their brighter than the stock ones. Since I’m in Canada, I have the DRLs also. I’d like to change them out also but not sure if I can just plug in some LEDs for them or not... I think they are an H15 bulb? can anyone give me some suggestions for the headlight bulbs and the DRLs? I would greatly appreciate it!! 😁 Thanks in advance!! Scott.
  5. Owner of a 16 Sport, and looking for aftermarket headlights. I am wondering if any of you guys are aware or have experience with any aftermarket headlights for this generation of sport. I have seen a handful of headlights for the pre 2015 models, and only one pair (on ebay) for my model and they were priced at $1400.
  6. Hey Everyone, I've had a 2013 Edge for two months now, and it seems to me that the headlights are kind of shitty. And by shitty, I mean they're weak/soft/vague... basically NOT VERY BRIGHT. Had anyone else suspected that. I'm even thinking of going out and buying some other bulbs to try, but I have the feeling the bulbs for an Edge aren't just $10 bulbs. Any comments are appreciated. Another proud owner of a 2016 Edge

Hello All, Another new 2016 owner reporting in. We just purchased a 2016 Silver Ingot Titanium Edge 2.0l (302A & Driver Assist too), which will be the wife’s daily driver. So far loving the vehicle, although we felt like we had to compromise on the ebony interior. Both my wife and I were adamant that we would never buy a car with an all-black interior. Every rental car I’ve driven recently had all black interiors and I always got frustrated with trying to find dropped items, etc. It felt like driving a cave around. I’m thinking about getting gray fitted floor mats to help with this specific concern since some kind of weather-proof mats are a must out here during a wet Western Washington winter anyhow. The huge sunroof helps too. Maybe our eyes are just getting old. We almost fell in love with the Murano tan interior, but the Edge won out in the end. After spending some time looking over these forums, I’m anxious about the possibilities of finding water in the foot wells or having the adaptive steering fail. Hopefully these are rare issues with Edges built on or after 3/29/2016 (our build date). By the way— it was nice finding such an informative and helpful group of people contributing to this forum. I’m already thinking of trying to find a way to make better use of the daytime running light setup. I wonder if the reflector portion of the headlight assembly can be repurposed to be a second set of high beams that are activated with the OEM high beam setup (or even separately with a dedicated added control) However, I would not want to burn out any control module outputs or relays with whatever modifications/additions that would surely be necessary to do this. It just seems like a shame to waste that portion of the headlight assembly on DRLs that only come on at times when the signature lights already serve the same purpose. My wife and I spent some time in a parking lot with a few garbage cans to simulate conditions for parking assist usage- in a torrential downpour. Pretty impressive capability although it will take some practice to make effective use of the system—it freaks out the wife a little especially when other vehicles with impatient drivers start to enter the scenario. The adaptive cruise control is very cool too. I’m looking forward to our first road trip where we can make good use of this feature. Here’s to many happy miles with the Ford Edge!
  8. Hi there, I am new to the forum and through my searching around I haven't found any relevant forums on what size to get for a 2014 limited edition. I was wondering if anyone could help me out or point me in the right direction, thanks for the help!
  9. I have a pair of headlights from my 2011 ford edge limited which I no longer need because I replaced them with custom ones. These are extremely difficult to find in good condition. They are in great condition, normal wear and tear but there are no scratches to the lens or chrome. I did repair a tab on one of them... These do not come with the HIDs or ballasts, however the passenger side light still has a ballast attached but I am not sure if it works or not. Should fit 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 models. If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me.
  10. Hey fellas and ladies, I have a 2012 Edge Limited and my passenger side headlight was flashing this morning. I could feel heat around the light housing and the car was off for at least 3 hrs. Is this the sign my relays for the lights are going bad or time to replace lights themselves. I want to know what i'm up against. Thanks in advance Carlos
  11. The lights on my 2014 Edge with 10K miles sometimes will not go off. I drive the car, auto lights come on, day or night. Stop car and turn off and lock. Lights stay on sometimes for hours. Sometimes will operate correctly. Turn off light switch manually has no effect, lights still stay on. Once had to disconnect the battery for lights to go off. This has been happening since the veh had 2K miles. Secondly, the car can be sitting for hours, with no one around it and the headlights will come on. Stay on for minutes or hours, then go off. Last check with Ford Hotline states no known issues. Additional. Heater/AC fan loses memory. Set the night before so veh will warm up remotely and no fan. Additional. Had key on to listen to radio, one door open. 20 minutes later message on display shut radio down to save battry. Tried to start car, battery dead. Yes, the car is going back to the dealer and they can keep it until it is fixed or replaced.
  12. I have a 2011 Ford Edge. The headlights are too low. After finding the adjuster screw for the headlights I can't get them to adjust high enough. I adjusted as far as I could in both directions and saw the beam go down and up. Any thoughts?
  13. hello, i'm new here and just purchased a used 2011 Edge Sport. I love the vehicle, however my one complaint is the headlights...they suck at night. BIGTIME!! so i have been researching HID kits for the Sport and have found that many don't sell a kit for the 9012 bulb and that many dislike and frown upon those who want or have HID kits in their edge. not looking for lectures on those who don't agree with HID kits, i am looking to ask those of you who have installed a HID kit, which one did you use? quality issues? longevity? really anything you wish you knew when you bought it that you know now. i have been looking at this one: www.carxenonhidkits.com/Edge-Halogen/High-Low-Beam-Beam-9012-Bi-xenon-Hid-Conversion-kit-slim-ballast-Ford-Edge-2011 thanks so much in advance for any help. 14. Hello everyone! I am proud to be part of this group, as I love my Ford Edge Limited. This is my first post so if I mess anything up (and I will) please forgive me and just let me know what I did wrong. Now here is my problem. I purchased a Race Sport HID kit to install in my 2009 Ford Edge Limited. I only changed out my low beams “H11” bulbs and now when I turn on my high beams, the lows do not shut off. I purchased the relay that runs hot from the battery, ground to the frame (same spot as my Viper alarm), one factory plug from the light to the relay, the two other out puts from the relay go to each ballasts, and then from the ballast to the light. It seems like everything is wired correctly and they work perfectly. When the lows are on the HID lights come on and so do the fog lights, but when I put on my high beams, the lows do not shut off. Why is this happening or am I so slow I never noticed that is how the Edge works? Is there a relay that could be bad and needs to be replaced or do I need to have it reprogramed? Thanks for any help that you offer.
  15. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good headlight replacement bulb for my 2011 Ford Edge Sport? I want it to match the LED fog/running lights. I'd prefer not to do a conversion kit and just put in new bulbs if possible. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  16. I am looking to add HID headlights to my 2013 Edge. I was planning on using DDM, however they do not carry the 9012 bulb. Is there another bulb that works the same without modification?
  17. On my 2011 Edge SEL, I have a compustar alarm, autostart. I love the comp-star stuff as its a quality product. Now that my HID's are installed, - with my switch on "auto" when I put my key in the ignition and click it to the "accessory" both headlights come on, then when I move it past accessory and I crank the engine over the drivers HID goes out. The only way to re-light the HID is to turn the headlight knob to "parking" then back to the "on" position. Subsequently anytime I remote start the vehicle at dusk, in the garage, or at night.... only the passenger HID fires up and again I have to manually turn off the lights (both of them) and then back to the "on" position to make both of the HIDS fire up. Does anyone know how to fix this issue ?? thanks so much.
  18. I have done this to my chevy cobalt and now I want to put a set in my wife's edge. Does anyone know where I can get real retrofit headlights and not the eBay ones?
  19. I'm looking for a plug-and-play headlight bulb replacement/upgrade to the stock HIR2 bulbs on my 2013 Edge Sport. What I'd REALLY like to do is a full HID upgrade to the 9006 Morimoto Elite HID System (Morimoto 3Five 35w ballasts) from TRS, but I've heard of issues with the HIDs flickering with the DRLs on. So I've resorted to the 'next best thing', which would simply be a HIR2 bulb upgrade. My question is, am I limited to the 9012 (HIR2) bulb, or can I replace my OEM bulb with the 9006? I've heard good reviews about the PIAA 9006 and was looking to pull the trigger on one of the following: http://www.piaa.com/store/c/21-Automotive-Bulbs.aspx?Attribs=49 Thanks!
  20. Hey, I have a 2007 Ford Edge and I wanted to install HIDs, are there any problems i will encounter? Flickering/flashing? Will I get a Light for check engine or something? is there anything else i need to buy? I'm playing on buying 6000k or 8000k.

  22. Hey guys, Here is a quick how to remove your headlights for 2011+ models. No vid this time, just quick pics to help you along your way. 1. Remove your bumper. If you don't want to take the whole bumper off, you can leave the bottom bolts in place, unscrew the top and wheel well bolts and screws, and pop the sides off. Then lean the bumper back, making sure its supported. Here is a link to my thread on removing your bumper: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12810-how-to-remove-front-bumper;-2011-2013-models/ 2. Once your bumper is out of the way, you will need to unscrew 4 bolts: You will need a socket wrench with a 10mm socket for the bolts above. 3. Before taking off your headlights, you need to disconnect the wiring. There is a wire harness located on the back of each headlight unit towards the bottom. You can disconnect it easily if access from underneath the headlights. There is a clip holding it in place on the top and it just slides straight out. Also, be sure to remove your turn signal and high/low beam wiring. This is were the wire harness pointed out above is located, shown from the back of the headlight unit: 4. Now that the headlights are completely disconnected electrically, you can pull the units straight out. There are no twists or turns, it is very simple. 5. When putting your headlights back in, follow the steps above in reverse order. The headlights have pins above where the bolt holes are. These pins slide into place in holes in the body of the car. This allows proper placement of the headlights and additional stability while bolting them into place. An example of the pin is below: 6. Bolt your headlights in place and re-connect any wiring from step 3. Once your, bumper is out of the way, this is an easy job. The only thing is, some of the bolts can be dificult to get to if you don't have a socket wrench extension. Other than that, very simple. Let me know if you have any questions.
  23. Hi Guys, I'm new here and I was wondering if any from California could let me know a good place to buy California legal headlights. I'm looking for an upgrade from stock and it seems that a lot aftermarket headlight aren't California legal or will not ship to California.
