  1. Hi folks: This's probably a 6-grader question, ...but that's my mechanical level, if such lol What's the proper, easier, best way to disconnect the HIR2/9012 bulb from the grey plastic socket without breaking the clips? Please see picture attached. I was trying to pry it with a small flat screwdriver but I ended up having to put it back in because I couldn't disconnect it from the socket for fear to break the clips. I watched a MacT YT video but the part of the video where he actually got it loose is not clearly shown. As a secondary, less important, just out of curiosity question: what's the blue retainer for, what does it do, does it have to be back on? As usual, thank you all in advance for your clear instructions.
  2. After my failed one year experiment with XenonDepot LED bulbs in my 2013 halogen projectors I decided to look around to see if there were any better halogen bulbs out there. I found this discussion on candlepowerforums: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?390701-2014-Sierra-Projector-Headlamps-best-upgrade I took a chance on the Vosla +30 HIR2 bulbs and I have to say they're a noticeable improvement over the stock halogen bulbs (lets not even talk about how much better they are than the LEDs). Beam reach is significantly better, they really throw the light down the road. I think the color is whiter as well but note that the bulb lifespan is also shorter than the long life bulbs. You can get them on Amazon or GM Parts Direct. Price is very competitive with current HIR2 offerings.
  3. I'm looking for a plug-and-play headlight bulb replacement/upgrade to the stock HIR2 bulbs on my 2013 Edge Sport. What I'd REALLY like to do is a full HID upgrade to the 9006 Morimoto Elite HID System (Morimoto 3Five 35w ballasts) from TRS, but I've heard of issues with the HIDs flickering with the DRLs on. So I've resorted to the 'next best thing', which would simply be a HIR2 bulb upgrade. My question is, am I limited to the 9012 (HIR2) bulb, or can I replace my OEM bulb with the 9006? I've heard good reviews about the PIAA 9006 and was looking to pull the trigger on one of the following: http://www.piaa.com/store/c/21-Automotive-Bulbs.aspx?Attribs=49 Thanks!
