Completed custom subwoofer/amp/speaker install with pics and diagrams for 2015 Sport LOTS OF PICS
HappyHourSport posted a topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Hey Guys, Just figured I would start a new post to show my completed install on my 2015 Edge Sport. I was not able to find ANYTHING on the 2015 so hopefully this will help some. First things first: No 6x8's in this beast, doors are not even cut for them. Factory 6.5 with extended mounting surround, didn't even measure the hole. No undo, lift and pull on the door panels, undo and pop off. Old factory harness's don't work all harnesses I saw were 4 conductor Here is what's going in. Keep in mind this is for Sony Premium sound and touchscreen Nav So here it is. Wiring Diagrams - Tap in after factory amp. I left factory Rear Quarter Panel and Sub hooked up hoping to put some load on the amp. Speaker wiring out.- 57 replies

New build, 2015 Sport, stealth JL 12, Components and some ?'s
HappyHourSport posted a topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Hello, New here but love the new edge sport I "got for my wife". I finally heard her say "It just doesn't sound as good as your truck" and I knew it was a go. Even though I have the Sony Premium sound, it just doesn't cut it. I planned a build using the left wet storage container as a mold for a shallow mount 12 and here it is. I will be installing: Alpine PDX-V9 (4x100 + 500x1 @ 2ohm) JL TW3 12" shallow mount Custom "First attempt ever at fiberglass/what the hell am I doing" box JL C2-650 6.5" component set for front doors LC7i 6 channel Line Output Converter As much sound deadener as I can cram in there, sounded like a tin can when I hooked up an external amp. The plan And so it begins My first attempt at fiberglass and I can tell you, use one set of clothes that stays outside, use solo cups, and it sucks but is worth it. Test fit, added a "structural support curvature" to the long section. Will have to fix that. That will do Have since fixed my nasty seam, a little better. With the deck on "under the hood" Plenty of clearance. Will probably end up putting a grill on it, but deck is very rigid, will add support in the middle near the spare also. Spacers are rubber stoppers epoxied together with a screw through it into the plastic frame. -
Brand: JL Audio Model: SB-F-EDG Stealthbox for Ford Edge and Lincoln MKT (fits 2007-2014) Enclosure type: Acoustic suspension (sealed) Driver: JL Audio 10W3v3-2 10" subwoofer Power handling: 150-500W RMS Impedance: 2 ohm This subwoofer is designed to fit in exactly the same space that the factory subwoofer fits on any Ford Edge or Lincoln MKT, model years 2007-2014. It goes behind the passenger side panel in the cargo area. It is a huge improvement to the stock stereo. I used it in a Ford Edge SEL (no factory sub) and loved it, but sadly I'm selling the car and wanted to pass this along to someone who will truly enjoy it. I have all the mounting hardware to securely hold it in place, and had no trouble installing it myself. The only thing I don't have is the mesh speaker grille to cover the cutout, since I had to leave that in the car I'm selling. I'm located in the San Francisco bay area in California. I'd prefer someone local-ish, since I have no idea how much shipping will cost. Asking $350.
