interior panel material type for detailing, cleaning, and protection
shift_enter posted a topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
2016 SEL with leather seats: I know it is horrible for leather seats to get products designed for vinyl and plastic due to drying and cracking and I am wondering if my dash and arm rest panels on the door are leather or synthetic. I want to use the proper cleaner on them to extend their life as much as possible. the dash and door panel coverings are softer than plastic but im not sure if the leather conditioner is a good choice or if I should get a different product for these parts of my interior. TL;DR- what material are the dash and armrest panels on the door made of? -
Does anybody have issues with the "suede" seat inserts in the '17 Sport Edge? I have had leather in every vehicle in the last 20+ years and hate these suede inserts. I'm guessing they're designed to keep you in your seat a little better as a "sport" option but I hate them. You can't move and it feels like I'm "stuck" to the seat. Any ideas for leather seat covers? I've got the ventilated and heated seats; will any solution render that useless? thanks for any help.

Protecting leather interior in hot dry climates
mikeym posted a topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Hi there! I just got my Edge a week or two ago. I live in North AZ where it is hot and dry for about 8 months of the year (not as bad as Phoenix or Tucson, but still). I have an Edge Sport with a leather interior so I'm looking for ways to protect the interior. I was considering getting some high end seat covers, but because the issue is dryness, I don't know if they will protect the leather from cracking. Will I still have to take the seat covers off and condition the leather to ensure that they keep moisture? From everything I've read, I basically need to condition all the leather and the dash every month or so, to make sure it doesn't crack. Does anyone know how durable the leather is in these cars? If anyone has experience with this I'd love to hear from you. Thanks! Mikey- 11 replies

Waxed the Edge for the 1st time: Cleaning product recommendations
Bossross posted a topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
Hand washed and applied the first coat of wax to the Edge this weekend (Phew its a beaut!) Cleaned interior, wheels etc. Thought I would see what everyone else recommends and give my 2 cents on products used. Wax - McGuires Wash - McGuires gold Used pressure wash to apply a good layer of soap then hand washed in prep for wax application. Griot's Garage heavy duty wheel cleaner - This stuff is the bomb Leather - Black Fire leather conditioner - works very well! Cleaner - Black Fire interior cleaner - Highly recommend Protectant - Black Fire protectant - again I highly recommend Black Fire products they do not put a heavy shine on the dash, interior stays clean longer. -
