Been looking to get roof rails for my first generation edge but can't seem to find any at the junk yards in my area and for wants a little over 400$ for one where I am from. So I was wondering if anyone has found another cars side rails that fit on a first gen and if so what kind was it? Thank you in advance have a great day

Really excited to about my new 2017 Ford Edge Sport! I'm on day 3 of ownership and I'm starting to order some accessories, get those windows tinted (hello So Cal sun), and get some low clearance snow cables. My plates are headed to me in the mail and I'm ready to strap a snowboard to the top and hit the road. One problem: I went to order some crossbars for the roof rack, when I realized... there are no base rails. When I hopped up to look at the roof, I don't see any plastic or rubber lined gutters on the side edges. There are no fixed holes for a base rack to screw into. I don't have a the panoramic sun roof (it's just solid up top). Please tell me Ford didn't just sell me a Sport Utility Vehicle, in the sport trim, with AWD... does not have roof rack options. Was my vehicle supposed to come with base rails? I don't even see where Ford sells the base rails. I tried Googling and searching this forum for about 2 hours, with no real results. Other posts are from years ago (older Edges seem to have a rubber-lined gutter that reveal fixed mounting points). Is this something Ford just changed with the 2017 models? Is this something that's just omitted on the Sport trim? Thank you!

Hi all, I purchased a 2014 Edge Limited with a Vista sunroof and I wanted to get the side rails installed and the dealer said they would not install that option. I was told that if I purchased the side rails myself and brought the car in for service my warrantee on the sunroof would be voided. Is this true? If it is not true is it possible to purchase the side rails and install them myself? Is it a lot work to install them and does anyone know of a tutorial on how to do it. I have a 2013 Edge Sport with Vista roof and I'm looking at getting a cargo basket to put extra items in for road trips. Thanks to everyone else on here, I was able to figure out the roof rack system that I need but I don't know about which cargo basket would work best. Was wondering if anyone else uses the basket and about how much stuff they are able to pack in them. I've looked at the Thule and Yakima but wanted to get opinions from those who have actually used one. Any pics would be greatly appreciated as it's hard to get an idea of what it looks like without actually seeing it fully set up. Thanks!

Has anyone installed the Yakima racks on a 2015 with pano roof? How do you like them? Any pictures of your setup?

I would like to have the roof side rails (rack) on my Edge. I do emergency communications for the Red Cross and want to install some radio antennas on the side rails. Hi everyone, brand new here. We will be purchasing my mother-in-laws babied 2010 SEL AWD in a few weeks. I would like to get the Ford factory roof rails and crossbars installed, but want to make sure that the Yakima box I already have been using on our Moutaineer will clear the rear hatch when opened. Our Moutaineer won't even do this, so I fear I may be out of luck seeing as the Edge has quite a bit less roof real estate. If someone has a 2010 with factory roof rack, can you measure the distance from the front roof rail (pushed all the way forward) to the hinge on the hatch? That should give me a good idea if my current box will fit with the hatch extended all the way up. Thanks!

i bought a set of factory roof racks, lateral bars and cross bars, for my wifes edge. She just traded it in, so I took them back off before the dealer took it. They were used once last summer, worked great. I can can get pictures if you really need them, but they look like every other set of roof racks. I have all the clips, bolts, plastic covers everything that comes from Ford when you order the system. Shipping may get a little expensive because of the size of the lateral bars, but hopefully we can work something out.
