  1. 2010 Edge Sport. On Sunday woke up to my battery being dead. Boosted from my wife's car & on with my day. The next time i tried to open sunshade or operate glass since the boost...NOTHING First instinct was fuse...so i saw in the box located under the hood that fuse 18 is for the roof...checked it, looked fine, swapped it with another 20A fuse there....still nothing so not the fuse This morning on my way to work I keep playing around with the switches to see if its just a temporary thing. I was able to tilt the glass & return it....but then nothing again & sunshade did nothing. Is there a reset of some type? Another fuse I'm not aware of? The roof closed somewhat slower than new the last little while, but I've not hear ANY noises that would indicate motor/gear failure. Plus i'm assuming they operate on different motors (sunshade vs glass) Any thoughts or DYI recommendations???

    Treatment for the Roof

Does anyone ever treat or wax the black glass roof on a Edge that has the twin sunroofs?

    Roof Molding Replacement

Hi everyone, Hope you all are having a great Saturday night. This is my first time posting in the forum, so hopefully I will get some response. I have a 2008 Edge SE (no Vista Roof, no rails), and the two black roof molding strips are cracked, and on one side the silver part is showing. Does anyone have a pair for sale (including the retainers)? To buy them new will cost me over $200.00, and I'd like to save some of my hard earned money. Also, is it hard to remove them? Thanks everyone!
  4. My mother-in-law has an '07 Lincoln MKX with about 20,000 miles on it. So far she's avoided the vista roof BAMR horror stories, although I'm sure she rarely even opens the shade. I took the car to get an oil change today and when I began to open the shade, the rear shade on the drivers side began to wrinkle and was nowhere near as tight as the front shade or the passenger side of the rear shade. I pressed the close button to bring it back and the entire rear shade snapped back in the open position and rolled. I tried to gently pull the shade back out but it didn't seem to budge. The front shade and the BAMR still work fine. Any suggestions? Thank you.

    Hail Damage

So a hail storm with 1/2-3/4" hail came through on Tuesday night and I never even noticed dents until I washed the cars today. The Edge had the following dents: Hood: 6+ Roof: 40+ Trunk: 0 Drivers Side: 15 Passenger Side: 2 The wife's 2005 Honda Accord faired much better as it was blocked from the side by the Edge but she had: Hood: 0 (that I could find) Roof: 28+ Trunk: 8 Drivers side: 6 Passenger Side 2 Is there a magic number where they would replace the roof or just pop them all out? I put the claim in for the Edge but I'm waiting to see how it goes before I make the claim for the Accord. The problem I see is that if we ever trade the Honda in, it is pretty worthless with the hail damage. Of course, I cannot live with the dents in the Edge and it will be fixed, no matter the cost. I've known some friends whose cars were totaled after getting hailed on but I don't believe we've come even close to that threshold. Thoughts, comments, experience, advice, all appreciated. -Mickey
