  1. Hi everyone, I'm new here. I recently purchased a 2011 Edge Sport with 11,000 miles. I love the car so far, but I have come upon one issue... During a recent snow storm, something go caught on my wipers and it scratched/smudged the windshield following the arch path of the wiper. Not sure if it was the dragging blade or something on the blade that scracthed it... Anyway, I've been trying to figure out how to attempt to remove the scratch/smudge. I tried toothpaste, diluted vinegar, Magic Eraser..nothing worked yet. I have read about trying either polishing compound or cerium oxide (jewelers rouge). Has anyone resolved an issue like this on their Edge? Is it just me or do our windshields seem a little soft? Also, due to this situation, I have decided to replace the windshield wiper blades. I bought the Rain-X Latitude blades, and they do not "click" to lock in place. Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have a suggestion on an aftermarket windshield wiper for our cars that click to lock in place? Thanks for the help! -Gene
  2. Aloha everybody, I am on the big Island of Hawaii. This is my second Ford Edge. Wife and I really enjoy driving them. We are unfortunetely having the same problem with the Rims on our 2012 as we did with our 2008. Scratching! I am hoping the issue has evolved since the incident in 2008 and we will not be forced to pay $1000 to replace a scratched 20x8 Ford Aluminum Chrome Clad Wheel. Problem in Hawaii is, everthing cost more due to shipiing costs. ? 1.) Can I somehow detach the skin from the aluminum wheel and take it to a chrome shop to get rechromed and them take it to a body shop to have it riveted or welded back onto the aluminum wheel? 2.) is the skin riveted or welded to the aluminum wheel? 3.) does the small 2inch center cap pop off? Mahalos to you all. Kai
  3. It must be some karma thing between me and my father and our vehicles, but it was quite amazing. Only 3 days after taking delivery, I drove to my parents house for something. I don't think it was a necessary trip, but when you have a new ride, all trips are necessary. As I was leaving, my father comes down the driveway on his bike to tell me something totally unimportant. And upon leaving, his bike scratches the paint. 'Tis but a scratch, but now I try to think back to years when I was riding my bike up and down the driveway, the same driveway. How many inane questions did I ask my Dad that led my bike to scratching his truck? Well, the number is evening out.
