    Tires for Snow?

Hi all, Just bought a ‘13 Edge Sport with FWD. It has 22” wheels and currently Toyo Proxes ST III’s on it that seem to be in good shape. I’ve never had a tire with such little sidewalls, and I’m wondering if I need to make some changes before winter. Cost is definitely a factor. They are apparently all season, and I’m not planning on off-roading in the snow, but there are a couple of mountain passes that I could need to go over in winter, and sometimes I need to be on the road before the plows come out. (Not super-snowy where I am in Coeur d’Alene, but we get our share.) I’m used to the Cooper Discoverer AT3’s I had on my Escape, with which I never even thought about snow. Getting 18” or 20” wheels AND winter tires would break the bank. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  4. All in excellent shape. I sold my 2016 Ford Edge last month but have these items I paid handsomely for, and selling for a song. Located in Boulder, CO, but will ship. Serious buyers only. Motivated seller. Make me an offer for all or some. Thanks. https://denver.craigslist.org/pts/6195938216.html https://boulder.craigslist.org/wto/6165490073.html
  5. Another loss for me for trading in my 2014 Edge for a 2016. But it could be your gain! (4) 18x8 Sport Edition A9 Titanium in Gunmetal rims - 5x114.3 bolt pattern (4) 245/60R18 Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 winter tires Installed with Ford's tire pressure monitors Approximately 5,000 miles on them during 2 relatively mild Ohio winters. I'd keep them, but they don't fit the new Edge. $1,100 - and I ship these FREE.

    Smallest wheel for '13 Limited

I've been scouring the forum for a definite answer regarding obtaining snow rims/tires for the winter months. This is our first winter with our '13 Limited and my wife will be carting around our new born so I want to ensure they're safe throughout the winter months. I also know the smallest wheel possible is optimal in deep snow. I've found lots of people report that 17" will fit on all '13 Edges except the Sport due to larger brake callipers. Now I've gone to several tire companies locally and they all are worried that the 17" rim will not fit because our Edge has the 20" package. Even Ford was telling me not to go 17". When I said that I thought only the Sport had bigger callipers he got defensive and said "Alright if you know best."; made me question if I did... So here I am. Does anyone know of a way that I can tell if indeed the 235/65R17 rim/tires will fit on our Limited? Or would anyone be willing to provide additional information confirming or disproving my thought that the suggested sized rim/tires will fit? Your help is much appreciated.

Horrible in the snow! Is this normal?

I recently purchased a 2012 FE (SE) hoping it would be a great snow car. Oh my goodness, just a little slush and slop this am on the driveway, and I was slip sliding all over the place. I have on the tires that came from the Ford dealership that I purchased it from. They have tread. Is this normal for this car??!!
  8. Hi all. We ended up trading in my wife's edge and went with an explorer. I have the 245/60r18 Bridgestone Blizzaks that were on it for last winter that have about 6-7K miles and are still like new. These are about $800 installed new, so you are saving almost 50% at $450. We had a ton of snow here in Michigan last year and with these tires my wife never once had an issue (her edge was front wheel drive). I haven't posted a lot in this forum (primarily used as a resource for reading when we had our edge) but you can find me on eBay under the same user id of jony51999 and you will see I've been a member since 2002 and have 100% feedback so you can be assured I'm trustworthy. I'm located in southeast Michigan and can be reached via the forum or at jony51999@aol.com
