mastereh Report post Posted August 7, 2014 I have a 2013 Ford Edge SEL FWD with approx. 32000km. I noticed last weekend when driving my rear passenger side brake was suddenly making a crunching sound when coming to a stop. I managed to get home and noticed that the entire area was super hot. You could feel immense heat coming from the wheel well. I called my dealership and have an appointment scheduled for this evening but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this before? I drove the vehicle for the first time today since the brake event occurred and didn't feel the same sounds; but now when driving I hear a slight squeaking sound coming from that same area of the vehicle. WWWPerfA_ZN0W Report post Posted August 7, 2014 Sounds like a stuck caliper to me, you should've felt some drag, unless it just happened. Caliper servicing and/or replacement should fix the problem.
mastereh Report post Posted August 7, 2014 Honestly didn't feel like much drag but I rarely drive the vehicle; it's more my wife driving it.

akirby Report post Posted August 8, 2014 Most likely a stuck caliper if one wheel is hotter than the other. Could be intermittent. Might just need to grease the slide pins.
