Transmission Temperature Gauge??

GrandpaGreg

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a 2013 Edge 'Limited' with the 3.5 V6.

I does not have the OEM Towing Package however I have added a Class III trailer hitch to tow my brand new enclosed motorcycle trailer. The combined weight of trailer and motorcycle is approx 1900 lbs.......within the recommended Trailer Towing limit for this vehicle.

Nonetheless, I would like to be able to monitor the transmission fluid temperature.

Can anyone advise of a good Transmission Temperature Gauge?

Many thanks, in advance for any suggestions you may have. :worship:

I use an app called "torque" with my adnroid phone, and a cheap Bluetooth adapter. It works great for everything except tranny temps. I get them but it bounces quite a bit. I can still get useful info. I tow a 2800# travel trailer, and on a hot day (28C 84 F) driving at 110 km/hr in 5th gear 2200 RPM I was running 94 C (200 F) coolant and anywhere from 90- 95C ( 195-204 F) tranny temp. I am towing fairly flat ground as well. For my own comfort 220 F/ 105 C is my upper limit.

Bumping an old thread. I have 2017 Edge sport (AWD) and using Forscan and OBDII MX Wifi app to monitor tranny temp. I am using the PID 1E1C. Driving up mountain roads I am seeing temps of 210, which seems high. curious if anyone else has figures to report.

Would you mind providing more details for how you are using that PID Code in OBD App, Including:

Mudule/Header

OBD Mode

Equation

Thank You
