Flashing passenger headlight

Hey fellas and ladies, I have a 2012 Edge Limited and my passenger side headlight was flashing this morning. I could feel heat around the light housing and the car was off for at least 3 hrs. Is this the sign my relays for the lights are going bad or time to replace lights themselves. I want to know what i'm up against.
