2015 Edge front turn signal replacement

Recommended Posts

Picked up our 2015 Edge SEL 2 weeks ago (FIRST Ford ever in my garage). My wife loves it.

Of course, I sold my toy so now I have a new Edge to play with. I want to put LED bulbs in the front turn signals and am wondering what the easiest procedure is to getting them out. I started taking the two 10mm bolts out on top, along with the plastic guide pin, but I stopped after I had them out because I couldn't figure out how to get the assembly out.

Anyone have any advice for me?

Thanks!

Here's the Ford workshop manual on the subject. Good luck.

Sorry about the pics; this site is blocked at work and I can't access the manual fom my tablet.

Np. Have fun with the bumper! :P

Hmmm... I just looked at that on your pic. I totally skipped the "remove front bumper cover" part. You don't have screen shot of how to get that off, do you?

I just replaced the halogen daytime running lights (yellow-ish) in my new Edge with LED's (white). They match the LED polygons much better IMO.

I was thinking about replacing the front turn signal lights with LED's as well. I'm not sure if I want to simply replace them with amber LED's, or to install switchback white/amber LED's. That way when the car is on, the turn signal lights are white, then they would switch to flashing amber when the turn signal is activated. I think it would be cool, I'm just not sure how much/how involved it would be lol.

Yeah I have access to it. It's 11 steps, so I should probably do it when I get home and get a proper screenshot. Be a mess taking pics via my tablet. :)

I'll see if I can access the manual from here.

Sorry about all the screenshots, but it's the best I can do since I can't download the whole page. Hope it helps.

Holy. Balls.

Just to change a stinkin' bulb? Is this seriously the only way to get at it? My guess? I'll leave the bulbs in till I absolutley HAVE to replace a bulb.

The thing that sucks is that I can almost reach the driver's side, but it's just out of reach. Thanks everybody for the help/guides.

Or you could use it as an excuse to adopt a "built Ford TOUGH" look, driving around without bumper cover/front grille :)

The Fusion is the same way to change the headlight or other front bulb; the bumper has to be removed. :/

My takeaway from this thread is where can I get a nice service manual like that without spending a butt-load of monies?

Bingo!

Reloaded has all the in's, but I really don't want to keep nagging for every little repair...

If I could, I'd give you my Ford log in to access the shop manual. :)

If I have the time, I don't mind posting the process for what you want to know.
