Vadimus Report post Posted September 15, 2015 Someone claims that he got update Sync 3 on his 2015 Edge. As per poster, you need to download update after login on syncmyride.com It does not show anything for me, can someone try it?

Vadimus Report post Posted September 15, 2015 Someone posted in Ford Edge Worldwide group on FB. Weird, but the post is gone now. I already PM'd the OP asking was it him removing the post or group's admins. Anyway, there's still hope.
RayoVac Report post Posted September 15, 2015 LOL, no way that Sync3 will be an upgrade option for MFT. Your hardware CANNOT support Sync3. Don't fall for this B.S. if you have MFT... there is NO software upgrade that is going to change you to Sync3.
27Sport Report post Posted September 15, 2015 Sync 3 requires a new screen, APIM, antenna cable and USB harness. Not to mention the programming to that specific vehicle.

cds71 Report post Posted September 15, 2015 Is retrofit possible? I dont think so.....if there was Im sure ford would be using that in their sales pitch.
CailinS Report post Posted September 15, 2015 According to a few articles/videos I've seen it is pretty much confirmed an upgrade will NOT be possible. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2015-ford-edge-first-drive-review http://www.autonews.com/article/20150427/OEM06/304279956/fords-sync-3--debut-vehicle-launches-are-out-of-sync

27Sport Report post Posted September 16, 2015 Is retrofit possible? It's possible but you would have to get someone inside Ford to program it for you. So basically no.
RayoVac Report post Posted September 16, 2015 It's possible but you would have to get someone inside Ford to program it for you. So basically no. I have no facts, but from reading about that guy that put Sync3 in his SHO Taurus... it sounded like along with all the parts you mentioned above... even if you could get them all without spending a BUTT LOAD... you would then need programming which of course a dealer could not do as your vehicle profile would not permit it, support it. The Taurus guy pretty much "knew somebody important at Ford, or WAS somebody important at Ford" thus how he was able to get the programming needed for the vehicle integration. RayoVac Report post Posted September 16, 2015 Sync 3 on 2016 http://www.edmunds.com/car-news/2016-ford-edge-to-feature-adaptive-steering-sync-3.html Yup, but this thread was discussing 2015s and older MFT.
Colt Report post Posted September 17, 2015 Yup, but this thread was discussing 2015s and older MFT. I just meant it as it's coming to the 2016 and not the prior models.
akirby Report post Posted September 17, 2015 The guy who put it in a Taurus was a Ford employee. He actually did it before sync 3 was released IIRC. Even if you could do it - the cost would be prohibitive.
