Mrjohnnyk Report post Posted May 22, 2016 Hi everyone, I just picked up a 2012 edge sel. It has the 2.0L ecoboost engine, I'm hearing a weird noise coming from the engine bay. Under acceleration I hear it then it stops until I let off the gas until I come to a stop. It sounds like a card in bicycle rim, but more rapid. Almost like something is hitting the turbine. tamugrad2013 Report post Posted May 25, 2016 I do not know about the card noise all I can think of is it the DI. I haven't ever heard anything other than that. I also rarely hear the turbo on acceleration unless I am under a bridge or when I was driving in the mountains and tunnels of North Carolina. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Hi Johnny, I got the same car as yours and I also have been noticing that noise! I once showed it to a mechanic and he said the noise is coming from where the exhaust pipe originates. He said its no big deal but if that noise bothers you that much we can replace that section with something more solid. I have decided to leave it for now.
