Ford Procal - factory tunes, 50 state legal, keep your warranty?

Recommended Posts

Actually, Ford Performance (formerly Ford Racing Performance Parts) is a separate company that offers its own warranty corresponding to the Ford Motor Company original warranty. All Ford Performance parts are considered aftermarket and only some of them come with a warranty (none of which apply to the Edge). It's a small but important difference... if you have a warranty problem with a Ford Performance part, you have to take it to a Ford Performance dealer for repair... not all Ford dealers are also Ford Performance dealers.

Ford Performance and mountune® Power Packs, Handling Packs and select components for Mustangs, Fiesta, Focus, and F-150

Ford Performance and mountune Performance Packs and Components are warrantied for factory-supplied material or workmanship when correctly and completely installed on a late model Ford vehicle by an authorized Ford or Lincoln Dealer, Shelby American, Inc., mountune LLC or an automotive service technician certified by the Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). This Performance Packs and Components Limited Warranty begins upon dealer installation and registration of the part(s) with Ford Performance and remains in effect for the balance of 36 months or 36,000 miles / 60,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first, calculated from the start date of the manufacturer's New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

So bottom line question - can I add 90 torque to my 2.0 Ecoboost with the Ford Procal, pass Smog in California, and be covered if my engine blows up at 20k miles?

Not on an Edge. The warranty would only apply to the supported vehicles.

Even though the engine is basically the same I doubt the Focus tune would work since they are completely different platforms.

nobody makes a tune for the 2.0 edge, a few people have inquired with Torrie of Unleashed and, he doesn't plan on it, there's no support for it. Not saying that someone wont though
