Cargo area with no light, lamp or LED?

Hi,

Am I missing something or there is no lights in the cargo area? I mean, I just bought an Edge 2017, I was looking for some stuff in the cargo area tonight, and was feeling stupid not finding how to switch lights on. There's a button on the top console, but only for the driver and passengers lights.

I have on the right side (next to the subwoofer) small led, but it's definitely not enough

If I recall from my test drive, it's on the passenger's side of the cargo area in front of the cubby/bin.

 

Are your rear dome lights turned off? Does the light not come on when you open the trunk or door? What about when unlocking your car with the fob?

How did you do that? is it battery operated or did removed to plastic to pass the wires?

Let me second the request for more info. A few days ago I needed to unload and load in the dark, and as soon as something is loaded on the right that darned little light is completely blocked. I'd like to wire something like this, but if someone has info on how to remove the trim panels it would certainly help. Even just a picture of the trim retainers with the panel off would be great.

Sorry for the late response. I'm sure you'll be disappointed. I just velcroed some battery light domes on the door panel, at least there is a timer on them to switch off. I tried to buy one more, but can't find it anymore (RONA in Canada).

Thanks for the reply. I will brave installing using the existing light wiring and add photos. I'm just hesitant with 1) A brand new car and 2) not knowing how the panels are secured. Maybe during the Christmas holidays.
