35w works best for most people. 50w kits need to be wired directly to the battery for best results, and will "whten" the light. Also output is NOT proportional to the wattage. Best bet is a 4300K kit if you don't mind slightly yellowish lights, or 5000K kit for best compromise between "whiteness" and output.

As far as AMP vs D2S I have no idea. Maybe to allow for factory HID replacement vs halogen? Here are some pics from Amazon to illustrate the differences between the parts

Thanks for the help I got the 55w marimoto fb kit with 6.5k bulbs . They say 55w takes 1k off the bulb so Im hoping it looks more like 5.5k I had 6k so this should look perfect Ill take pictures with both my set of lights . One with factory housing and the other with retro fitted fx-r in them. If any of you are interested

Selecting AMP versus D2S is not a matter of choice - you have to choose the one that matches the projector you're using. If you have factory HID then the replacement will be D2S. Otherwise, you will use AMP which is the type that matches with aftermarket systems which use standard halogen bulb styles (H7, H9, H11, etc.).

55W systems are not recommended since nobody, not even Morimoto, makes a 55W watt HID capsule. So you're just overdriving a 35W bulb with a so-called 55W ballast. "So-called" because most brands don't even make a true 55W ballast so you're really paying more for power you're not actually getting. Morimoto is an exception here... their 55W ballast really is what they say it is. So you pay more for a 55W system, you get only about 25% more light output despite a 57% increase in power, you drastically shorten the life of the 35W bulb, you generate enough extra heat to seriously damage the reflective surfaces in the projector, and you lose color accuracy and consistency. All-in-all, not a good choice.

Thanks for the info. But as I do agree I ran a 55w for 7 years with no problems and same bulbs and bulbs are still good even with my new system witch I got really cheap since marimoto gave me a discount for being a returning customer and they didnt make the kit I had anymore and they would only give me basically what I had I couldnt end up getting a35w. But only reason this kit went bad is Im guess because the mount broke somehow and they have been just banging around under the hood but even then they still work just not good..
