Long-time Ford Owner in CT, First Edge

Hi everyone,

I figured it's probably time I introduce myself around here after being on (just reading) these forums for a while. My family has owned a couple Edge's, but for the first time ever I finally own my own!

As of this weekend, I am the proud owner of a 2014 Edge Sport in Ingot Silver Metallic! It's got a good amount of miles on it, but it's incredibly clean inside and out, and has a perfect maintenance history as it was owned by a family friend of the dealership owner (no, its not just a ploy, as my the sales guy was a friend of mine).

My quick back story is that I'm a long-time Ford owner from a Ford-owning (mostly) family. My Edge is replacing my 2010 Focus SES, which was unfortunately deemed a total loss two weeks ago with 157,000 miles on it because some kid rear-ended me while he was on his phone. My other vehicle is a 2017 Fusion Sport that I ordered new once the order banks opened in 2016, but that stays garaged unless the weather is clear.

Hopefully I can bring some of my FORScan and UCDS knowledge over here, as I'm very active over at 2GFusions and the Fusion Sport Forums. Among many mods, I successfully did the MKZ/Mondeo instrument cluster swap on my Fusion last year. Also, I already have the SYNC 3 hardware for my Edge on order - it won't be easy going back to MFT for two weeks, haha.

Welcome and congrats on the new ride! Sorry about your Focus, tho :( Regardless of maintenance history, if you have an AWD Edge, PTU/RDU fluids should be R&R'd at the earliest. This goes double for the 2017 F Sport, too little fluid in a very compact unit.

Hope you enjoy the Edge for a LONG time to come! 6 years have come and gone for me already LOL.

Thanks. Yeah Mine is AWD - In the past I've replaced it every 25-30k mi or so. The Fusion is only at 17k. The Edge actually just had the PTU fluid changed, and the RDU is getting replaced next week (it was making a whining noise on my overnight test drive, covered under extended warranty, thankfully). I love FoMoCo, but I'll admit it's their weak point, lol.
