2019 Edge Rear Seating Air Vent Temp

Recommended Posts

Hello to all.  Recently purchased a 2019 Edge.  Noticed an issue with the air temperature from the rear seating air vent.  Using a digital laser thermometer air temp at the rear seating vent is 15 -20 warmer when climate control is set to AC.  In cooling mode the air feels warm compared to the air exiting the front vents.  Any ideas why?  Sure seems like a problem.

Thanks.

I think it is because goes through a longer duct that is not straight & goes around the center console storage area, so it probably gets warmer on the way. The center console storage (under the armrest) even feels cold after a while. Maybe insulating the duct inside the center console will help.

On hot days especially it takes time for it to cool down the venting the air runs through before it starts to feel close to the front air temp. There is also a chance that some of the drivetrain is warming it up some. Also If you have dual zone on the temp seems to be controlled by the passenger side.
