2017 Edge Titanium side mirror connector question

Hello,

 

  A couple of weeks ago my wife was driving in Atlanta and was clipped in the driver side mirror.  It literally just took off the mirror and back cover of the driver side mirror.  I've replaced the mirror and as I did I came across this connector.  Does anyone know what it could be for?  I don't see anything it could connect to on the new mirror and the passenger side doesn't appear to have that connector.  Just curious if anyone knows.

Does your Edge have auto-dimming, heated mirrors, and BLIS?  Could be for one of those features and the glass just doesn't have the connector if yours doesn't have that option.

  We have heated mirrors and BLIS but not the auto-dimming...that I'm aware of.  Our BLIS is out because the rear driver's side sensor is out.  I'm not sure why that is.  I've checked the fuse and all is good and clipping on the road was just the mirror.  Thanks for your response.

I'd agree with @DaMiFo. Looking at the 2017 Order Guide, the Titanium model with BLIS is always equipped with Auto-Dimming drivers side mirror.
