oldedge Report post Posted September 14, 2019 I’ve seen the wireless keypads for the Edge, but I’d rather have the wired version so I don’t have to worry about the small battery dying. Does anyone have the list of parts to do this? Is it possible for a truck that didn’t originally come with it?
Gadgetjq Report post Posted September 14, 2019 (edited) If you're referring to door lock/unlock keypads it's unlikely you'd be able to retrofit anything that would look original. Small keyfob batteries typically last for years and are easy and cheap to replace. Edited September 14, 2019 by Gadgetjq
akirby Report post Posted September 14, 2019 On older Ford’s you were able to add the factory keypad and plug in the wiring but I don’t know if that works on the newer models with it integrated into the b pillar.
oldedge Report post Posted September 15, 2019 Akirby, I think that’s what I’m referring to. I have a 2010 model, so that is what I’m looking for, not the b-pillar version.
akirby Report post Posted September 15, 2019 The first step is to see if the connector is there inside the door.
thesavo Report post Posted April 26, 2021 (edited) It's been two years. Did you get a chance to perform this mod? I added this to my 2003 taurus years ago. I have diagrams for 2014 if you want. Do you have have a door with the cut out or are you using a grinder? Edited April 26, 2021 by thesavo
