Jb2022 Report post Posted March 31, 2022 Hello, My 2018 Ford Edge required the purge valve replaced. The dealer is saying this is not part of the emissions control system. Has anyone had the purge valve replaced by the emissions warranty? Should I complain to Ford?
1004ron Report post Posted March 31, 2022 Ford Support | Emissions Defect Warranty I changed mine at around 5 years and 75K miles and didn't give any thought to emissions warranty, but reading that I'd expect the evap purge valve should be covered.
bscott94 Report post Posted March 31, 2022 I thought it should've been covered as well. I called the dealership and I think they said it basically just covers the cats. I bought a new part on Rock Auto for around $50 and it took like 5 minutes to install. Looking at 1004ron's attachment, it looks like the purge valve would only be covered for 2 years/24k miles. So it is not worth asking the dealer about or fighting with ford?

But don't be surprised if they say it's not covered. It's fairly cheap and easy to fix so I wasn't super upset that they told me no.
