This is my second attempt at modifying the Puddle Lamps. I originally used the x4 5050 LED festoon style replacement, but I wasn’t happy with the light output – just slightly better than the OEM. This second attempt provides significantly more light.
The lugs fit snugly over the existing festoon contacts. I added a dab of silicone between the lug and puddle lamp housing to ensure the lugs wouldn’t work themselves free.
The LED module’s contacts are not polarity sensitive.
