  1. I've been using Meguiars since I can remember, well mostly since '99 when I had a black Firebird Formula WS-6. I tried all of the other "lower end" products and some of Mother's products and never felt as satisfied. Always found myself in love with Meguiars Quick Detailer. What I really happen to miss though is glass polish, now I use Invisible Glass (definitely not the same) and Mother's polish for any metals that may need polishing like exhaust tips etc. For the black stuff I use Black Magic (I think that's the name of it) though at times I am not happy with it and feel I must apply too much to the tires just to get a consistent flat appearance. ^^Might have to try that Mothers Back to Black, thanks!

I've heard of all of the other detailing products but never found a reason to change my brand for good or spend all that extra cash to try out all those "new" or old products on the market.

  2. I was looking at my window sticker and am going to have to say that the new LEDs are "supplemental park lamps" since there is nothing else on the vehicle that can be assumed to be such a creature. I don't think they are going to be true fog lights. This is just my take but if Ford were to offer fog lamps on the Edge I am certain it would be spelled out, as when optioning out a Mustang.

  3. Actually if that is the case, that is nothing to be excited about. The Buick Enclave, 7 passenger, bigger vehicle FWD is better than these 17/23... I having my local dealer let me know when he gets them in, can't wait to drive one.

Is the 17/23 on the window sticker of the one you saw?

Yep. Read it again just in case my brain deceived me, still says 17/23 with a combined MPG of 19...that is for the Edge Sport AWD.

I personally thought it was going to be higher. Now it's up to my wife as to whether or not she still wants it.

And you're right, the larger SUV/CUV's have very similar fuel economy figures...kind of disappointing actually, but not a deal breaker for me (maybe the wifey though).

  4. 2101 Edge limited

While changing the oil,12500 miles(every 2500 miles),I decided to open the lower drain plug on the tranny, slowly so I was sure it was tranny fluid, after drain I replaced plug and refilled with Motorcraft Mercon V fluid 4.5 quarts that brought the level to mid point on the dip stick, warm.Marty

Changing your oil at 2,500 miles is a waste of money. Not to mention the tranny fluid should not be anywhere close to needing a change unless you just tow stuff with your vehicle everyday, all day.

My 2010 Raptor and Mustang both go 5,000 miles before oil changes....aside from the initial break-in 1,000 mile oil change.

    Save your money and time.

  5. Brian, welcome to the forum. I am also new here and figured I would pass along this greeting since there is nothing like people viewing your post yet NOT saying "Welcome!"

Anyway welcome. I'm waiting on the arrival of an Edge Sport for my wife.

  6. It's only frustrating when she refuses to drive my Fusion because it "sits too low".

If I accelerate with more than 50% throttle she thinks we're about to die - even if it's on a dry sunny day with no traffic. Yet she thinks cruising at 85 mph in a top heavy station wagon is perfectly safe.

I don't necessarily feel your pain but I do understand the predicament.

  7. Let me guess - she thinks sitting up higher is "safer"?

No actually I think it is the fact the fact that the Edge is more open and cavernous than the Mustang....probably the illusion of it being bigger as well (relatively speaking). But I never asked her about the sitting higher topic...could be.

  8. I have scoured the internet and have found nothing. Since I am new here I am wondering if any of you have heard any legit rumors on the MPG for the 3.7. I would imagine that it has to be higher than the 3.5L.

    Just looking for input.

    Thanks.

  9. My wife has started to feel unsafe in her current 2010 Mustang (yeah I don't really have my Edge yet, waiting on our 2011 Sport), we have two American Pitbull Terriers and a Basenji (need the room), she doesn't trust the safety/reliability of the trusty '91 Landcruiser for long hauls when we travel with the dogs. And of less importance, there is the fact that it provides more room for her family members that visit us from Czech Republic every 20.125 years......we must accommodate.

  10. Funny thing is I test drove a 2010 today to see if I liked it. Hot as hell outside, cranked up the A/C and ""WHAT"" is this...seems like they forgot a blower speed on the system. Mind you, this was a brand-spanking-new Edge with 20+ miles on it. Tried to readjust the vents, crank the temp down on the auto A/C, but nothing happened. Will it stop me from buying my 2011 Sport? Hell no. But the wife's $20k 2010 Mustang blows harder and colder than the Edge.....hell so does my Raptor.

Personally I think they had some left over Pinto A/C systems that they were dying to get rid of. :)

  11. Spoke to my dealer today. I have an Edge Sport on hold waiting for my pick-up with a supposed Aug 09 delivery date (give or take forever). Ordered, VIN in the system, and just waiting on delivery.

So in answer to the OP's question I would imagine that production has already started. Though this is a dealer order and not a retail order.

  12. Don't like to give out names, sorry.

Have a 2011 Edge Sport AWD on hold and waiting for delivery on/about 09 August. It has all options minus all-weather floor mats and illuminated scuff plates rocking the Tuxedo Black paint scheme.

I hail from the lower east coast of North Carolina.

Other rides include a 2010 SVT Ford Raptor in Molten Orange and a 1991 Toyota Landcruiser with 243,000 miles.

Strange thing is that we (wife and I) had a 2011 Mustang GT/CS on order and she decided she didn't feel safe in it and it was not practical...basically wanted more room for our three dogs and sporadic family members that visit ever 19,000 months (yeah, I know but it is her vehicle).

    Anyway, here I am.
