  1. I installed mine and it came out perfect. Thanks for the tip to blow any dust off with a can of compressed air.

I also ordered and installed from Invisible Mask clear protective film for the headlights and lower bumper. The light kit came with film for the verticle LED lights as well. Light kit was easy to install. The lower bumper kit was more difficult, but I got the hang of it and am very pleased with it. They cut the film perfectly for the 2011 Edge and it goes from wheel well to wheel well for total protection. Doing it myself saved a few hundred dollars.

  2. Thanks for the discount code mleber; just ordered mine!

When my Edge arrived I noticed a small scratch on the screen, the dealership ordered a new one which was installed today. I decided to order a NuShield screen protector for the long term (i keep my vehicles for 10 + years). Thanks for the discount code.

  3. Edge SEL arrived at the dealer today. The salesman demonstrated everything and I will pick it up Friday. NAV, iPod touch, Sirius travel link, pairing up Blackberry.....everything worked fine.

Mine arrived! I will get it tomorrow or Saturday at the latest. Happy Thanksgiving!

  4. I use clay treatment + Meguires NXT on the paint, chrome, wheels, and light lenses/smooth plastic. As for the textured and black plastic parts I use Meguires Interior Quick Detailer. Clay+frequent applications of Rain-X (being very careful to not get any on the paint) takes care of the glass. As I mentioned in another post, masking tape can be your best friend here. Keeping the wax off the textured plastic and any accidental smears of detailer off the paint.

After reading these posts, and doing some reserch I went with Turtle Wax Ice wax paste and Ice detailer for my new 2011 Edge. I can verify that it shines up the car real well and does no harm to the black plastic. The Edge has a lot of plastic pieces and I did not want to bother with any other wax that might haze it. They should make a comercial like Frank's Red Hot sauce.......I use that s*** on everthing! After winter I will do the clay bar first....I have never done it before so I am nervous.

  5. I found that plugging the USB update in before you start the car is a way to get MyTouch to reboot.

Also fuse 29 in the kick panel controls the sync.

The panel has a slide to right thing to unlock it.

I found that standing on your head helps to acess the fuses. I pulled #7 to reboot my power seats today

Thanks for the fuse information. I finally got MySync to download the software update. It was my fault, not knowing how, but finally figured it out. I don't think these are big problems, I still love this vehicle. It's not paying for a mechanic, just have to update software in the future. I just can't imagine what software will come in the future that will keep this system at the leading edge of auto electronics.

  6. Today I was helping my father in law set up his new ride, and found that Mysync system was not working properly. I could get Nav to work but when it came to settings I could not get into the sub menus (i.e. set up time etc.). I got it fixed by doing a hard reset by disconnecting the battery cable. It seems fine now. Does anyone know which fuse controls the Sync system? I also downloaded the software patch from Ford but so far cannot get it loaded into the Sync system. I will get my new Edge in a week or two. So far I am really impressed with the technology, I hope all bugs will get fixed in the next few months.

  7. Wow that is pretty loaded up. Did you get the Driver Entry Package? If you look back to my original post, I got mine for 40,000 cash + tax. I had no trade in or RYR vehicle. I am happy with my price. Don't look back, if your happy with the deal you got.

    20" tires upgrade

complementary floor mats, and cargo package, bug deflector

    60 mth warranty

premium rust proofing(negative ion release gadget under the hood)

$42,100 out the door including my trade in....plus add my 2K from ford and the 300 from the gov,,,it takes me to $39,800.00

Been surfing the web everyday just soaking up any info I can get, the user manual is a great read! if you havent already read it.

Love to hear the deals out there..

  8. The dealer need to chip in for the employee pricing or its all come from Ford Canada ?

Go to the Ford Canada Site and build & price your Ford Edge. Ford has two discounts: $3512. Emplyee Pricing and another $1000. Delivery allowance. With the discounts your model comes out to $37887.00. So with the dealer offering to sell it at $35000 seems to be a good deal. Maybe add a couple of things in your formal offer eg. bug deflector and mudflaps or a block heater (if you need one). Remember walk out if they try to add a bunch of fees or unnecessary items. Make sure to put down on your offer a full tank of gas (they don't offer that anymore). In the end if you are happy with the price you paid , don't look back. Good Luck.

  9. Just a clarification. Employee pricing must be a Canadian thing - we don't have that offer in the U.S. right now.

I was surprised when I saw it on the Ford Canada site in July. It is in effect until the end of August. I thought they would do it to blow out the 2010 model only (there is a larger rebate). In the end it I still put in a lower offer which they accepted.

  10. Hi, I'm in Toronto and looking into buying a 2011 Edge Limited. Would like to see some example of the deal that your guys made,so that I can get some ideas of how much to offer the dealer.. Thanks

It depends on a few factors: Are you getting a loan? Right now Ford has employee pricing which is worth $5000.00 on the 2011. If your paying cash you should be able to get at least $1500.00 more off the price. Have them throw in some goodies (mats, bug deflector etc.) Do not pay the list price (sticker). It is a hot vehicle, but the market is'nt easy in the $40,000 range, so they should be able to go down. Make them a fair offer....let them refuse......walk away (leave your number). They will call you back within a week. Also if there is more than one dealer near buy, try the same strategy and see who bites.

  11. I ordered a 2011 Edge AWD Limited on July 27th. I will not get it until the middle of October. I ordered the following options:

    Trailer Tow Pkg

    Driver Entry Pkg

    Vision Pkg.

Canadian Touring Pkg. (Vista roof and Nav)

    Block Heater

    HID headlamps

    White Platinum Metalic Tri-coat

    mud flaps

    chrome bug deflector

    All weather floor mats

I am switching to Ford after being a long time Toyota owner. I was interested in the Acura RDX but the FORD sync and powertrain in my opinion is far better and the price was better.

  12. Hi

I just ordered an AWD Edge Ltd on July 27th. The dealer stated I will not get it until the middle of October. I have been buying Japanese products for over 20 years but I really like what FORD is doing with it's products. I picked the Edge over an Acura RDX because of the technology and the powertrain advantage. I am very excited and hope FORD lives up to my expectations.
