  1. Just thought of something. Yes, the vehicle is new, but I always check fluid levels and air pressure in tires. Had a car in past that was really low on oil. The fluid levels in teh Edge were fine, but the tires ranged from 44 pounds to 38. Talked to service and they said "trust the door sticker" which on the 18 inch Michelin Latitudes is 35 lbs..

Isn't this what the dealership is supposed to be checking and verifying when they take delivery of your new vehicle and supposedly do a "pre-delivery inspection" and hold up your vehicle for another half day or so when it arrives on the transport?

  2. Wilson,

Here's a picture of the key fob so you can see the actual size of it.

I don't think it's anymore cumbersome than my old focus key and fob together. I love not having to fumble around to get it out to open the doors when my hands are full. Just walk up grab the handle doors unlock and you're good to go!

    :shift:

Is this fob also the Remote Start? Apparently, Remote Start is supposed to be "Standard Equipment" and no longer an optional item. However, I noticed that some of the Window Stickers show it under the "Standard Equipment" section and other stickers don't. I am hoping that it is standard on the MKX so you don't have to have two fobs in your pocket! Any confirmation on this for Canadian MKX's, is it standard or not?

  3. Wow - that might be the longest delay I have seen on an order process. Good luck on getting that anytime soon. The link will update eventually with the sticker.

Still trying the VIN site. No window sticker yet! Dealer still saying to be built week of 9/27. Ford Customer Service says that according to their system it is to be shipped week of 9/27 to arrive at dealer October 4th. I think this is a little optimistic. I am in Alberta, Canada, so maybe three or four days by train and 1 or 2 days by convoy is a possibility.

  4. I ordered my Silver MKX back on August 14th, I am waiting to hear back from the dealer in Edmonton, Alberta. Just wondering if anyone has received their MKX in that region.

I was going to order mine from Waterloo in Edmonton, but decided to order from a dealer a little closer to Lloydminster, Alberta. I ordered mine July 23, and have my VIN, but nothing showing in the system yet. Dealer is telling me that it is supposed to be built the week of 9/27. We will see! Dealers in Edmonton are apparently getting some stock orders in but I haven't heard of any customer orders arriving yet.

  5. Dealers are given a monthly build allocation by their regional office, based primarily on their sales rate and their inventory of each vehicle line. 2011 Edge production began in early July Assume your dealership was allocated 3 for July, 3 in Aug. and 3 in Sept. Your order should have been one of the earlier ones submitted, but it may have been one of many. If they were all ordered with a 40 priority, the earliest should be scheduled first. If, however, several orders came in after yours with a higher priority (between 10 [highest dealer priority] and 39), they would be scheduled before yours. So, 40 is bad only if later orders got higher priorities. If there are 9 in the system ahead of you, you might be scheduled in October.

If you happened to order a commodity that is in short supply, that would delay the submission of your order for scheduling. The dealership should know if there are controlled commodities.

Ask your dealership if they placed orders with a higher priority after your order was submitted to Ford. Ask what allocation they had for July and Aug. production, and how many orders have been submitted. (They may not want to share any of this insight with you as you could figure out that they put other orders ahead of yours, after you ordered.) They will want to blame Ford, but dealers contrrol scheduling.

Ask them to get on the locator to see if one is in another dealer's inventory that they can dealer trade for you.

The last time I extended a lease, they let me go for two months at the old rate (plus a week or so at a daily rate.) Same situation, delayed delivery of my new vehicle.

wOW. I ordered on July 23 an MKX, and I just looked at my order confirmation today, and it says Priority 80! It appears this dealer really didn't want my business or gave me a BS story that I would have a vehicle in 6-8 weeks, and then submit my order with such a high priority number. Is there any way that I can have the dealership change this priority number at this stage of the game? What is the highest (crappiest) priority number you can be assigned?

  6. We ordered our 2011 Edge Limited on August 21st. We worked directly with the Fleet Manager from the dealership.

It went in as Priority 15. I assumed it went in as a customer order but not sure.

By August 27th I had a VIN number and build week of 9/13. Within a day or two I pulled up my window sticker online.

I just talked to the Fleet Manager today and he said he had notice from the factory that it is in assembly now (!) and we should

receive it by the middle of October.

He told me he can track every step of the way for a car...

Also he said they got their first Edge Sport in and that it was sold the minute it was washed off!

    We are in Northern CA.

What is the site or address to pull up the window sticker online?

  7. Got my Vin today, order is 'Sub to Plant'! Ordered on July 23rd.

Anyone else get a status update today?

I ordered on July 22 and it is now September 7 and I still don't have a VIN. How is it that you got one so fast? This was for an MKX. Was yours an Edge or MKX?
