Hi. i did some checking and some people have pulled the fuse for the sync system for 20 to 30 seconds and replaced it and that fixed the usb issue. you have to look in the owners manual to see what fuse is for the sync. it will save you a trip to the dealer. shutting off the car does not kill all the power to sync so you have to do it with the fuse. all sync is is a small computer in your car so just reboot it like you would do at home. you will loose all of your settings and you will have to pair your phone again. let me know how it turned out.

hey everyone. the ticking noise is normal. when i heard it i did some checking and everyone said they all do that. it seems once it warms up a little its not so noticeable.

wow. i gues i am one of the lucky ones. i have no problems with my sync at all, i do use a older phone that works fine. i rarley use the voice activation but works ok. i recieved it in oct. i am very happy with my 2011 edge. once i saw how the sync worked at the dealer i purchased the extended waranty anyway because of the sophistication of the sync. i would bet against any lemon law suits.

I got the kona blue limited awd minus the sunroof ,dvd headrest, bliss and adaptive cruise. sticker was 38.900 got employee priceing plus 1000 rebate got it down to 34.300 with 2.9% financing. would of paid full price if i had too. my wife loves it. first brand new car we ever bought.

Hey everyone. finally picked up our 2011 blue edge limited AWD. We love it. the thing is awesome. i finally got my wife out of it a few minutes ago. everything is working great. you dont even feel it shift gears. the cargo cover is definatly a joke but will do the job when she goes shoping. the reverse cam is awesome. will take a few days to figure out all the short cuts but its definately learnable just by navigating around. have fun everyone.

the blue grill came out great. still have not gotten ours yet.

The picture is AWESOME. Even at night. I do not know how they did it, but in complete darkness, the rear view backup lights must be SOOO bright that it almost looks like daytime in the camera view. It is in FULL color even at night. They also have a ZOOM option on the screen (cool).

My old ride, BMW X5 backup camera, SUCKED dirt at night. You couldn't see anything if there was no light around. They may have improved it by now, I had a 2007, but I really dont care to find out now.

 

Rear View Camera = Awesome. Great job Ford.

 

It is a MUST and should be standard in my opinion. A great safety tool, one I used ALL the time for parking.

Hello everyone. can you give a desription on the rear view camera picture. is it clear or fuzzy?

wOW. I ordered on July 23 an MKX, and I just looked at my order confirmation today, and it says Priority 80! It appears this dealer really didn't want my business or gave me a BS story that I would have a vehicle in 6-8 weeks, and then submit my order with such a high priority number. Is there any way that I can have the dealership change this priority number at this stage of the game? What is the highest (crappiest) priority number you can be assigned?

Ok i have a question for the ones who have seen the 2011. i did not get the blind spot system on the limited i ordered hoping the mirrors would still have the little blind spot mirrors built in on the top. can anyone confirm this for me?

I would think VINs apply to Canadian as well as US vehicles. Check out this explanation.

 

The 13 char will always be a Zero. Also stated in that link: Since 1981, VINs consist of 17 characters which do not include the letters I (i), O (o), or Q (q) (to avoid confusion with numerals 1 and 0).

the blue grill insert looks good. i showed my wife the picture and if she doesn't like the new chrome grill when it comes in she would go with the all blue look.

I wonder if there's anything that I can do with a VIN for my Canadian order of a MKX? My dealer has been essentially useless in regards to keeping me posted as to build date, etc (and has even lied to me in terms of telling me my order would receive highest priority and would be placed as part of their first dealer allotment - meanwhile, there's a new MKX sitting on their lot waiting for another customer to pickup. No big deal as I'm not in a huge hurry but I hate being taken for a sucker.)

 

My saleman did tell me I had a build date of 08/26 and gave me a copy of the DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement). Two dates on that are the order receipt date (07/27 - 10 days after the dealer told me they placed the order) and the DORA processed date of 08/26. No mention of a build date and I am certain the saleman mistook the DORA date for a build date (only been selling Fords for 20+ years but anyways...). But I do have the VIN - but it still shows up on the http://services.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin= site as not found in their system. Should that website (if it works for Canadian orders) tell me the build date?

 

BTW, does the VIN display "Ohs" or zeros as the 13th character? I've tried both...

I ordered my edge about the same time you did and got about the same info. my vin still doesn't show up either. i am being patient because i want it with no flaws. and i am in no rush to start making that 2nd mortgage payment what ever makes my wife happy!!

My window sticker still doesn't have a date. I was told build is week of sept 6.

I have noticed that the sticker updates every time I view it from the web. You'll notice the print date is stamped at the bottom.

I got you. that is just a print date. is there another place on the window sticker i should be looking for a date?

Hi luvford. i think the date on your window sticker is the the same date you looked at it for the first time. icould be mistaken but i think the system just throws the date on there. look it up again and see if the date changes.

Hello Everyone. I have gotten a lot of info from these posts and decided to join and comment. I ordered my wife a 2011 kona blue AWD limited egde without the sunroof. never used the one she had on her explorer sport. i got an e-mail from ford with my vin# that is not in the system yet and a schedule build time of sept 16. i ordered it on july 28. i think i am more excited about it than she is. i have her reading up on all the options witch look overwhelming at first. hopefully they will not be to complicated. thanks everyone for all the great info.
