  1. I've given up on Sync. Been to the dealer several times for updates since September. Finally got Bluetooth to pair and now can't receive calls even though it says 'connected'. My phone rings but the car doesn't. Voice inputs don't work anymore when I press the steering wheel button. The Sync lag is ridiculous when I'm trying to adjust the climate or radio. Its unacceptable for a $40000 Ford to be having Bluetooth issues. It seems like everyone's having issues there should be some kind of mass recall to get this fixed. Ford's reliability has been sinking fast this past year after making great strides the years prior.

  2. On day one within an hour, Sync dropped my iPhone connection. I couldn't get it to re-connect and returned to the dealer where the system did a re-boot on it's own. Then I was able to reconnect. All was fine for a week. Now sync has dropped the connection once again. My iPhone syncs with all other Bluetooth devices and maintains connection without any problem (I'm using a BlueAnt device just fine until I can get in for service). Anyone else experiencing this or know what will fix it? I use this feature more than any other feature of Sync

same problems with droid2. wont hold connection and im beyond frustrated.

  3. i bought a droid2 this weekend because someone wrote it's compatible (along with the droid x) for the texting feature. When i try to send messages it says "message sent" but on my actual phone it shows the message i just typed plus 'sent by my ford' signature, however it doesn't send. i have to press send on my phone which defeats the purpose.

Also on the screen when i click on receive messages it just says "receiving messages" in the yellow top left box and doesn't receive anything.

Is there a setting to make this phone work with the texting?

  4. I got my car back today from the dealer after telling them of my frustration of getting the car back in worst shape than when I dropped it off. I asked them to please test it before calling me to tell me it was ready. They called me today at 2pm and said it was ready and everything works. I was skeptical as you can imagine after reading everyone's troubles on this site. I can happily report that everything works! I spent the last hours setting my phone back up and going through every menu. I cannot find anything that doesn't work. I'm still in shock and I hope it stays this way. I am telling everyone this because there is hope.

I'm having the same issue pairing my Blackberry. It kept saying that BCM string of letters instead of "Sync" so I deleted my phone and did a master reset. Finally it let me enter the 6 digits and paired my phone. However it went out again the next time I turned the car on and just said "add a phone"

    How did they fix yours?

  5. So I talked to the Service Manager and he tells me it's a 3 hour job and they have done 6 other vehicles. Successfully is what he's saying but really define successful....without talking to the vehicle owners how would you know. He says I can come anytime and get it done; no pressure.

I had the update done and it knocked out the bluetooth. Now I can't get my blackberry to connect to Sync. I'm upgrading my phone next week so if that one doesn't work either I'm bringing it back.

  6. So the day after Christmas New Jersey got hit with 12-24" of snow depending on where you live. The roads were wrecked. The snow started slowly and early in the day and by dinner time we had a full blown whiteout. Lots of ice underneath a layer of new fallen snow (which was difficult when we were seeing 2"/hour) It took me nearly 30 minutes to dig my Edge out of its parking spot (lousy plow drivers) but then it was clear sailing. I was very cautious, as all the crash reports I had taken all day involved 4WD vehicles. The snow was still pounding and the only way I was able to drive home (Garden State Parkway for those familiar with it) was to look out my drivers side window and judge my distance from the center divider. I averaged about 20 mph and made it home safely, even snow plowing through the 15" we had on our unplowed street. Im still going to consider regular snow tires, but im very satisfied with the performance of the 22" Pirellis.

I didn't have any issues with the Jersey snow either and I have FWD.

  7. It's been 2 months and 3000 miles with no issues. Plenty of comfort and cargo space on our 500 mile camping trip to Penn State. Averaged 23 mpg with mostly highway driving. Coming from a Mercedes I appreciate the increased mpg and lower maintenence costs. Love the Vista roof, the front LEDs, and especially the tech. I figured out my quirk with the windshield wipers. Had to turn off auto mode so that it runs intermittent speeds. Only changes I'd like to see are an actual button for the hazards and having a locking gas door.

How do I change the wallpaper display and have photos for my phone book contacts?

  8. Yeah, there is a small vibration using ford locking lug set. I was washing the car this weekend and while working on the wheels, I took off the locks and put the regular nuts back on. There is NO vibration. When the new nuts get here, I will report how they work. Each nut is a locking nut and is identical, so there should be no weight difference.

Thanks please keep me posted as I'm waiting to purchase some locks.

  9. I was just looking up what a replacement wheel cost for the Sport. They are $1,370 plus change (US). Make sure you get locks for your new wheels. You do not want to buy a replacement wheel.

I ordered the factory wheel locks on ebay for 15 bucks. They look good and are only slightly larger (longer) than the regular lug nuts. They weigh about 20 grams more than the regular lugs. I hope it doesn't throw the balance off on the wheel. I just put them on and will keep notice of the performance/ I have a long commute tomorrow driving down to Key Largo, so it will be a good test. If they do wobble then I will get a complete set of locks like gorilla locks. They have a set where all lugs are locks and they look good too. These will keep the balance good, since all lugs are the same.

Here is the ford info on locks.

    How's the balance?

  10. Those all sound like things that I am counting on having issues with anyway. Just the learning curve of so many options. Glad to hear it is awesome to drive.

Windshield wipers are either too fast or too slow. Do the front LED's only come on when lock/unlocking? Can they be used as DRL's? Sony 12 speaker system should sound better and have cd changer. Doesn't compare to my other Harman Kardon system. Can I stop the Nav from muting the stereo on every turn alert? Is there a separate volume for the Nav voice? Seats are slippery would prefer alcantara inserts in the sport.
