  1. I have had mine for 3 months and the NAV does speak street names most of the time. I wouldnt say that I use it every day, but about once a week. It is strange how it sometimes selects the names vs. road numbers and sometimes nothing. In south florida the streets are really well documented on all systems out there and this one as well. Sometimes it will say turn left on FL401 (example number) and then on a return trip it will say turn right onto glades road. No rhyme or reason that I can see but those are the same streets at the same intersection, I was just going different directs on the approach to the intersection and then it just picks a name (correct one).

It is a nicer system than my old 2007 BMW.

Well, over 90% of the time I just get, "turn right ahead" ... Looks like another trip back to the dealer!

    Thanks for your response.

  2. I received my new 2011 MKX at the beginning of November and love it. For the first month I was driving around with my NAV and thought it was quite odd that in a 2011 vehicle the system didn't speak street names on a programmed route. Even the cheapest Garmin & Tom Tom's have spoken street names today.

Well last week I had the famous SYNC update done to my vehicle, received it back after 3 days and everything is much better. So I'm driving on a programmed NAV route and all of a sudden it announced a street name to turn onto, I was in shock. I got excited that now I have spoken street names after the update. However much to my disappointment, it only does it very intermittently, and announces the upcoming street name to turn onto maybe 10% of the time, I can't figure out what prompts it to announce the name at the certain few times. Most other times it just says "Right turn ahead" instead of "Make a right turn onto Baker street". Anyone have any feedback on this? Does someone have spoken streets names all the time?

  3. Hello all from Kitchener,

I just ordered mine this past Monday. Are you getting the VIN/build dates from a web site or the dealer? Also, it appears that the order/delivery time is approximately 6-8 weeks. Is this holding true?

    Steve

Congrats! The only thing I managed to get out of the dealer was my order number, he wasn't very helpful at all. With that I got the order status & VIN from Ford Customer Relations. 1-800-565-3673.

  4. I had the same exact production date as you and this is the update i received this morning:

In Transit - Shipped Rail - Railcar # TTGX159969 (Canadian National Railways ) Ramp 60, Oakville Asy, ON Oct-27-2010, 02:00 ET.

    ETA TBD.

Yours may be on one of the railcars heading to Montreal as well....ETA is TBD, must be becuase not all the rail cars are filled yet.

Yippee, I hope so! Would like to get it by the end of next week so I can enjoy it a little before switching the 20's over to 18" winters!

  5. I ordered my Edge Limited on September 27th from Circuit Ford on Henri-Bourassa East

Called dealer for my VIN around 8pm on October 14th, the claim to have just received it that evening (I doubt they would have called me with it, I followed up with them)

Got my window sticker on October 18th

Now, I have the upgraded 20's and the HID's ordered on it. The dealer told me the order had no delivery date, only an anticipated production date of October 25th. He said it was coded with some letters meaning an item was back ordered, he guessed it was the mags but wasn't sure and it didn't specify.

To be honest, the later I get my car, the better, I didn't want it before New Years actually, I ordered when I did simply to get the employee pricing but I needed some money I was expecting in January to cover the down payment! If I get told there is a delay in some parts, no prob, but the dealer said it would get built and simply put aside waiting for the other parts to come in..that pisses me off. Build my car when you have all the parts, less risk of damages with a car sitting around doing nothing.

I asked and was told when I ordered my car that it would only go into production in November as October was full, I was happy to hear that cause that was a concern when ordering, I would have had an extra month to save up and be closer to my money coming in. I don't know if the dealer push a rush on the order or coded it with a high priority but it's moving faster than I wanted...guess I'm the opposite of what most want lol.

I finally got my VIN today, and found out that it was produced on Oct. 25, and now awaiting transport :o)

  6. Holly crappers!

When did you order your truck?

I live in Montreal and ordered my truck on Sept. 29th. I got my VIN Oct. 14. I was told by the dealer the anticipated production date was today Oct. 25th BUT he saw a code on my order which meant something was back ordered on the truck.

He said he had a production date and no delivery date. He asked me if I chose the 20" wheels instead of the stock 18's, I said yes and he said from what he had heard, these mags where back ordered. He said they would produce my truck and make it wait for the wheels, I was like that's crappy, where, in some lot out back in the elements as opposed to my heated garage?

Now reading your email, maybe it's the HID's that are back order and not the rims, gonna make a call and see if I can get any updates. Think about it this way, maybe some of the bugs will be fixed before your truck is built, that's what I was hoping!

I wouldn't remove the HID's, they are really nice and you should get the truck the way you wanted it. I wish the BLISS was back ordered, I don't want it any more.

What about you Dreamss? Where did you order from, and how did you get your VIN so quickly?.

What you about Dreamss? Where did you order from! And how did u get your VIN so quickly?
