  1. LOL, I see lots of people cranning their necks too; I think they may be checking out the 22" wheels though. I've had many people ask if the wheels are standard or not or what kind of vehicle it is etc...and I do have my windows tinted so I'm not sure that helps! Congratulations and enjoy!

The truck is ridiculous. I can't tell you how many people stare at it all creepy-like when I drive by!

  2. We weren't even offered the tire and wheel protection. How much does that run? I might have had to sign up for that before i drove it off the lot. That would probably have been well worth it.

I would have to pull out my contract to see the cost. It wasn't that much. Call your dealer immediately and ask for the warranty. You can only apply it to your vehicle early on.

Keep in mind that the rims are only covered when you have a blowout or tire issue that will damage the rims. Curb rash and scratches from normal driving aren't covered.

  3. So on 11/06/10 We went to the dealer and we accepted the offer on the table and took the 2011 Sport. Someone told me "Take it, instant gratification" They were right... Its a great driving truck, and since there aren't many out yet in Northern NJ, you can watch as drivers crane their necks to check it out.

We got asked at several stop lights to "Roll down the window... What is that?... Its beautiful!" After the second time my wife looked at me and asked if I was planning on tinting out the front windows soon.

I def. see the difference in ride from our 2008 Limited w/ 20's. I have to say I was worried that it might be a crashing ride with 22's but its great! This is the truck ive been waiting for. Firm, quiet, and sharp handling. It really drives awesome and feels more like my old Mercedes CLK AMG then an SUV or crossover.

I think my SYNC stopped working, But I may be doing something wrong, so I'm not 100% sure yet. Everything else seems to work well.

We got the Cargo package included on ours but the dealer took the charge off. They installed the cargo cover and it is the worst looking piec of garbage Ive ever seen. In good faith I couldn't even list it here for sale to someone and tell them it'll look good. Its a joke. I had a great roll up shade in my 2005 Escape and I'm wondering why Ford couldn't put the same roll up shade in the Edge? What a shame they went as far as placing the EDGE logo in the front turn lenses, and then dropped the ball on some details (like a decent cargo cover) completely????

Overall, I would recommend the Edge, and specifically the Sport to anyone.

    Pictures tomorrow.

FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF $43680.

Theyre giving me invoice $40678 - 3750 in rebates and cash, ($37129) plus paying my last lease payment left on my 2008 limited ($340)

Take it? or leave it? It sounds fair to me and Id have the Sport by Friday.

So I guess were going to take this.... My Wife spoke to the dealer about options we werent interested in, and they agreed to drop to $36544. I knew she could convince me to do stuff, but I guess I underestimated her persuasiveness over others.

Sounds like a great deal. Most dealers in NJ aren't discounting them because they sell QUICK. I got mine on D-plan (Ford Employee).

Keep one thing in mind regarding price. It's very common for a dealer to give the car away up front and then hammer you in Finance. Watch your rate, dealer fees, etc...the dealer can make up an additional $4,500 in BS fees, add-ons, and rate bumps. This is becoming more and more common in the industry.

I would recommend getting the Ford Tire and Rim warranty. Those rims/tires are expensive on the Sport.

  4. Hello,

My name is Randy & I ordered my Edge Sport last week. Was hedging the fence, almost bought a 2010 & decided to wait for the upgraded Sport for 2011. Had to order it because I wanted no extra options & only wanted FWD (I have a Subaru & F250 if I need 4WD). The only option was the candyapple red paint.

Had a hard time with the dealers. It seems the sales people don't have much time for you if they do not have it in stock. I had to go to the general manager of the dealership to get me a price (and this is a place I buy parts from on a daily basis - I own a repair shop).

I'm really going out on a limb with this purchase because I did not test drive the 2011 Sport (No one around here has one in stock in FWD). Hopefully it will live up to the hype. Would be interested in other peoples opinions of their 2011 Sport.

The FWD Sport and it's an absolute win. I love mine more than any other car I've ever driven and everyone I show it to is amazed at the look/capability. I traded in an Infinity for my Edge Sport and never looked back. Congrats on owning the coolest truck on the road.

  5. Hi Tom,

The 2011 Edge comes with 6 months of Sirius Satellite radio in addition to Sirius Travel Link. Sirius Travel Link will display near real time traffic/construction/accident alerts on your navigation map. Sirius Travel Link also includes weather information, fuel prices, etc. From my experience in the last month, the traffic information has been fairly accurate. The dealership activated all of these services before I arrived. Let me know if you have any other questions. Hope that helps.

There is one HUGE concern. Turn-by-turn directions via Sync Travel and Directions currently doesn't work for 2011 MyFord Touch equipped vehicles equipped without the Nav. If you have the Navigation, you are good to go. Ford is working on a patch right now, but keep in mind that for the next few weeks, this won't work.

  6. I ordered it from the dealer on 30th of September. However, this car was already made and ready to be shipped from a factory to a dealer in West Coast. At least this was based on the record what a dealer showed me at the time of the placing the order.

I was also able to register with this VIN number on syncmyride.com. It identified properly my vehicle as Ford Edge Sport - white platinum.

    Thank you for checking.

Ford must not allow me to see another dealer's allocation. Sorry i couldn't help!

As for Trish's comment...AGREED! I am a fellow soon-to-be White Platinum Edge Sport owner as well! Can't wait!

  7. We are locked in for the $1000 incentive that expired on 10/4 and will pick up our Edge later this week. I couldn't find the new incentive/bonus on the Ford site or Edmunds or True Car. It would be nice to get the extra $500. I'll have talk to the saleperson to verify.

    Thanks.

You should be able to re-contract with the new incentives. You need to push this with your dealer.

  8. Thanks. I'll follow up with my salesman then. Wish there was another way to track the order online though so i wouldnt have to keep bothering him.

I work for Ford. Shoot me your VIN and I'll see where you're truck is at in the process. My Edge is coming quicker than I initially expected and hopefully the same will happen for you!

  9. Hey I was just wondering, how many CDs can the player hold? I know my 08 SEL can hold 6 CDs.

The cd player only holds 1 disc. Most who buy this truck will be using the dual USB drives. On one hard drive, I can hold 100 plus cds of music.

  10. Yeah, there is a small vibration using ford locking lug set. I was washing the car this weekend and while working on the wheels, I took off the locks and put the regular nuts back on. There is NO vibration. When the new nuts get here, I will report how they work. Each nut is a locking nut and is identical, so there should be no weight difference.

Oh crap! Gorilla locks, for me!

  11. I think you misunderstood. The car comes with regular lug nuts. I had the regular lugs on there, then put the 4 locks on that are the regular FORD branded lugs. They are giving a small imbalance. I have the gorillas in shipment and will replace ALL 20 lugs for gorilla locking nuts.

What is this imbalance you speak of? Are you getting vibration/noise from the wheels?

  12. Since mine is officially "in transit", I'd like to share my production schedule. From order to build, this truck is coming quicker than expected...about 1 month!

Here's the breakdown of how long it took in each phase of production. This should help as a guidline for those who are waiting on an order.

  14. I have pushed my luck to the end with my little escort and winter driving... there was one morning last winter that I pretty much needed a drink by the time I got to work, but the exits were so much worse that there was no turning around and going home. Just had to pray that it was better by the time I left to go home. Luckily it was. I decided that day that I wasn't drive that car another winter here. Either move or get a new car. I can't wait for my limited AWD due to me anyday!

You definitely do try your luck in the winters by me (I live in Coastal NJ). I am somewhat rolling the dice, but since I'm going from a rear-wheel drive sports car to this truck ANYTHING is an improvement! Ha ha! Technically I shouldn't have lived through last winter...it was BRUTAL.
