  1. My '11 Edge's interior has been super quiet for 11 months. Just a few days ago I started getting a squeaking/rattling noise in the interior. My passenger says it is coming from the center stack area...in the vicinity of the Touch screen. I can't pinpoint it.

Has anyone else experience squeaks coming from the dash area in their Edge? I see where there are complaints and a TSB for a squeaky seat. Could this be what I am hearing?

I'm experiencing a rattle right behind the steering wheel just under the soft leather. I can stop the vibration by pushing on the plastic part under the soft leather. My it's the same problem? I'll get it checked on my next visit to Ford.

  2. Same problem here, sometimes it works flawlessly and other times, I have the same issue as you guys.

My guess was that it wa related to the dirt/weather but from your comments it seems not related.

Nothing in the user manual gives me a clue on this. Does this happen to only a fraction of '11 Edge owners?

Finally had a part replaced today. Unfortunately the problem has gone with the winter season, will need to wait for autumn before knowing if it worked or not.

FYI they replaced a "TPM Module" check Oasis TSB 11-4-14.

  3. Hello,

I've been browsing my Owner's Guide for my 2011 Ford Edge and the Scheduled Maintenance Guide is not very clear. All I could find was a list of things to verify at every oil change, a small table of a couple of parts to service related to mileage and all the other info was in the text somewhere. I couldn't even find the info for the AWD fuild.

Am I just dumb or I could find a proper table somewhere with the mileage interval for everything on my Edge? My Mazda had a complete table of every fuild, parts and thing to check.

    Here's an example:

Quick example of maintenant table I'm looking for

    Thanks for you help

  5. Me to!

Wonder if us Edge owners will be contacted by the dealer or if we have to ask them? Maybe it will appear on the sync site?

It should be done as a recall in my opinion as people who are not on these forums or go onto the sync site (for example my parents wouldn't if they owned this car) will not be aware of serious upgrades that need fixing on thier systems such as the White screen of death etc as well as the other stuff like miles instead if km's. I know there is a lot more they fixed but to some they weren't important stuff like the Blue tooth setup and stuff like that but there are some priorities that were fixed and people should and need to be aware and contacted.

If and when people get the upgrades, please post how you found out about it e.g dealer or sync site and if all works better now or not.

I have the same question. If anyone gets a call from the dealer or something, please let un know!

We need a wallpaper with the EDGE logo!

  7. Hello, I ordered a OEM hood spoiler for my new 2011 Edge and the dealer Sais it should take 1 to 1 and a half hour to install!!?? Is this possible? Anyone had one installed? Even on previous gen Edge I'd like your take on this. At around 90$ an hour this would double the price of the part.

Since my truck is new I prefer to have parts installed by the dealer.

    Thanks!

  8. Yeah, I'd tell my dealer to get bent if they want to charge for something on a brand new car that takes all of 5 minutes to complete. Not a great way to build a solid customer relationship, sheesh. Excited to hear if this fixes some glitches (and hopeful it makes it into the one we ordered a few weeks back!)

Shouldn't it covered under warranty? I mean if a suspension component is faulty and Ford decides to replace it it would be covered under warranty so why is it different with software?

We got a faulty software and "replacing" it with a better software should be covered under warranty. I'm not looking forward to having that argument with my dealer.

  9. Hello,

I've been lurking on this forum since I ordered my new Edge 6 weeks ago. Now it's finally here! A brand new 2011 Ford Edge SEL AWD Metallic Earth.

    Includes:

    • Driver Entry Package
    • Towing Package
    • MyFord Touch

Here are a couple of quick pictures (already mounted on 18in Blizzak DM-V1 snow tires and 18 inch wheels with TPS sensors). I strangely like the way black wheels look with the Metallic Earth paint.

Still missing hood spoiler, it was BO.

  10. Ok, after finally reading the instructions  , I was able to properly install the NuShield protective shield. Installation was quick and easy. Couldn't test it in broad daylight but glare and espcially finger prints seems to be reduced. At this point I cannot comment on brightness or contrast differences.

    Recommend.

  11. I received my shield yesterday and let me say I am far from impressed! The film was already pretty scratched (similar to old and scratched headlight lenses) and had a small pink tint that renders the colors from the screen dull and pinkish. I did not install that crap and I will contact nuShield for a full refund. Right now I prefer my screen to be full of fingerprints than to be all foggy and pink. Big thumbs down.

:banghead: RTFM!! Guess I was in a hurry to ride my new Edge and " forgot" to read the instructions!

    Thanks for pointing that out.

EDIT: Turned out I hadn't read the manual. I had to remove the protective films. See post #62 for my real comments.

  13. I just got my DayVue film and rushed to install it while the sun was still shining.

I've installed film on all kinds of devices and was happy that this Installation was VERY simple and easy compared to others.

I cleaned my screen, used a piece of packing tape to peel the clear backing off and laid the film in place.

The 174x104 size was perfect. Just enough gap around the edges.

When trying to peel off the pink protective film on the front (I stuck packing tape to the pink film to help in peeling it off), I ended up pulling the DayVue film off my Touch screen. No problem putting it back on, just be careful to hold the film in place while peeling off the protective pink film.

That's it. It took me all of 30 seconds to install.

While I haven't had much time to use it, I have determined that fingerprints are hard to come by, colors are more vibrant, and the glare is decreased quite a bit.

I think everyone will be happy with the results. I am!

Check out my before and after pics

Thanks for this review, I just ordered mine as well!
