The speaker pictured is the new one, a 6-1/2" driver developed about 10 years ago by Jeffrey Glowacki of Sonic Craft and used for years in the speaker systems they manufactured. The drivers are discontinued and SC is clearing them out at $10 each--but you have to buy a carton of 24! I've used MANY in the 3 front-channel speakers of my multichannel music system.

If you look at the display screen where it shows AC, Temp of the AC, etc..you will see three bars "under" the screen.

 

The middle one says "EXT" - push it and see what happens.

I was thinking about it the other day.. I'm not sure about 16".. I was thining of going a cheap 17" alloy instead of steel. It's only August so I still have trouble thinking about winter

Are you saying with the Dual Zone Climate control there is an outside temp display? I don't see it anywhere... Only interior temps. Am I missing someting?

I have the IHF1000 (in my VW Jetta, not my Edge), and it's great. You can in fact hook it through the speakers (if you have the proper wiring harness). The voice functionality is fantastic, and the clarity is great too.

Hand wash for sure..

If you take care of it from the beginning, it's very quick to wash. The day i picked up the car i:

1. washed

2. used a clay bar to remove rail dust, and other crap from sitting at the dealer

3. polished using Klasse All-in-one (great stuff!)

4. sealed using Klasse Sealant glaze

5. next day, put another layer of Klasse glaze.

a double layer of Klasse glaze will last up to one year. From then on it takes me 30 minutes ot thoroughly wash the car.

The only car washes I go to are the do-it-yourself ones in the winter to get any salt/road grime off.

Just picked up a SEL+ Redfire Metallic for my wife. So far, the it's fantastic. We traded in her '03 RAV 4, and are glad we did. Just holdin' out for a bolt-on supercharger upgrade
