  1. I was up to date on my version. I was running 2.11 before I did this install. I got tired of waiting for it, since it was stuck. I shut off the car and restarted it and when it came up it said that the installation was complete. I think the installation finished, but the screen stuck for my install. I unplugged the usb stick and it works great. All my setting were retained and I love that my wall papers are actually useful now. Before I never saw it on the other screen. I do miss that when I pug in my iPhone 4 (usb) that the home screen no longer shows the pause button. I wonder why they got rid of that? It was very convenient there, now its a two step process instead of one. But everything else is a big improvement!

  2. This morning I started installing the new update for my 2011 Edge. During the installation, the system froze while installing file 2/9 (some kind of zip file). I spoke with Ford and the only solution was to bring it into the dealership, which is where I am now. A supposed one hour process is now going onto hour six. Because it started installing the new system, I can't go back to the previous one. I am beyond furious. This has taken up my whole day. I'll give a further update if they can get it to work (the service department told me they are having problems getting it installed. How did this issue not come up in the beta??

I'm having the same issue. I started my installation 3 hours ago and I think the update is stuck. Its at the end of the install (the system has restarted and I can see the new home screen) but it is stuck at installing 2 of 4. I called my local ford dealership and they said to let it run for another hour. If it doesn't install by then, I have to turn off my 2011 Ford edge and take it to them on monday. I had such high hopes and I'm a little bummed about this. I haven't had many problems with the old system and all the previous install went fine. I'll update shortly....

  3. Oh. And that's working just fine, huh?

And the list does have an update date of 10.25.2010. That's 19 days ago. How old is "old" exactly?

I never stated that the bluetooth audio streaming works fine. Bluetooth audio streaming was added to the iOS in 3.0 release back on June 17, 2009, before that you could not stream over Bluetooth. The iphone 3Gs was released on June 8, 2009. Since the list does not show the iphone 3Gs or iPhone 4, logic would state that they no longer test the iphone and thus they did not update the list to show when apple added bluetooth streaming.

I did see the revised list date of 19 days ago. They could have simply just added new phones and not retested old phones. The list does not state that all existing phones were retested for compatibility. With so many phones, phone OSes and updates, I would not expect the list to ever be up-to-date.

  4. Here's the link for the latest SYNC phones tested.

Its listing for Apple phones and the one that I have that reads text messages.Note the columns SYNC Rating and Audio Streaming.

Note that the list is an old list and does not include 3Gs or the iPhone 4. The reason why audio streaming was not noted in the column is at the time Apple did not allow bluetooth streaming at that time, but now they do.

  5. Bluetooth all of a sudden stopped working. I deleted the phones from the system because they wouldn't connect, and not when I go to add the device, the screen pops up briefly with the passcode but then flashes off and it says "paring failed". It definitely seems like something with the system. Any ideas? I have an iphone and blackberry.

I had this happen to my brand new Edge SEL before I drove it off the dealer's lot. The only "fix" they had was to disconnect the car battery to force a reboot of the system. You can also pull the fuse. As soon as it rebooted, it connected straight to my iphone no problem and haven't had a problem since. The service guy also suggested that I only try to pair the phone when the engine is running and not in accessory mode.
