  1. Maybe more Canadians should voice their opinions on this forum and some ideas may come forth...providing the moderator doesn't object...personally I don't care for forums that are full of complaints but 'opinions' & suggestions would be useful.

    I agree.I only found out once we got the car that all we saw on the adds is not available in Canada.Could we call this False advertisement?

  2. I am glad you brought this up, as I was just wondering about this. I have no vehicle yet but it is currently on rail being delivered. When I check Sync My Ride account under Update & Customize is states: Waiting to download 0 items. Then under Vehicle Health Report it says the following:

     

    Vehicle Health Report and 911 Assist™ are not installed on your vehicle. Upgrade now!

    Now most SYNC owners (except Mustang) can upgrade to include this feature—so you can monitor your vehicle''s health—with a touch of a button or a simple voice command:

    911 Assist is available in the United States and Canada only, Vehicle Health Report is available in the United States only.

     

    How do I get the upgrade?

    Is a SYNC upgrade to include 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report available now?

    Yes. Owners of all SYNC-equipped vehicles (except Mustang) may upgrade their SYNC to include 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report. The upgrade is a software installation performed by dealers, and eligible customers are responsible for dealer installation charges, which may vary.

     

    To get the upgrade you will need to:

    Create or log in to your SYNC owner account now.

    Go to the Update & Customize page.

    Select the 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report Upgrade.

    Print the Request for SYNC Upgrade Form form and bring it to your dealer.

    Make an appointment with your perferred dealership.

     

    Overall, it seems they do not install these features from the factory, so the dealer must install it, possibly for a charge. The fact that your dealer does not have the proper USB cord suggests that they probably have not done an update of any kind, so be weary.

    Thanks for the imput. I had the 911 assist but I lost it after It performed a scheduled system maintenance.Everything was working great prior to this.Everything else is working great and We (the wife and I LOVE our Edge limited)

  3. 911 assist is not functioning.Please contact your dealer for services. This is the message I have on my touch screen.I just returned from my dealer and they spent one hour but not able to fix it.I have just over 770 kilometers on this new car.Now they need a special cable to connect the car to a computer.They will contact me when they get it.Anybody else have had this message??

  4. I think that's a fair assessment. And honestly, the fact that is kept all of my inputs during the event (radio station and volume, Navigation route picked up where it left off, etc) says it was more of a controlled event than some other Microsoft products would have given us in the past. It certainly could have cleared all my setting preferences, killed my route guidance, and set the radio to AM 550 static but it didn't. So count me as impressed even when there is a crash. Assuming I don't keep seeing them of course.

    I had the scheduled maintenance on start up on thursday 17th and the next day I got this message on the touch screen that my 911 assist is not functioning .And to see my dealer for services.Anybody here know what's up?

    Any followup about these mud flaps and the predrilled holes on the 2011 Ford Edge limited? My dealer has a set for me .I have not seen them.Will be going in this PM to see.Not sure if I will get them installed.

    Just got back from the dealer.The mud guards from Ford were black flexable plastic .Very cheap looking and you need to drill holes to secure them.I did not take them.They were free .I guess they had them in stock for some time ,can't even give them away.Oh and they were for front wheels.None are in the system for the back wheels.End of that story for now.

  6. cirockets I have not tried everything and I doubt I ever will..But the phone works great ,also the sirius radio.The sound is awesome with the 12 speakers..The backup camera is great,I only briefly tried the navigation not enough to fully assess how hood it is compared to my old Garmin.Anyway I am sure you will like your new vehicle.For your info I am in New Brunswick about one hour from Moncton

  7. We ordered an 2011 edge limited front wheel drive on the 01 Nov 2010. It was built on the 5th Jan and arrived at the dealer 18th Jan in the evening .Got a call the next day and parked it in my yard on the 20th.Yesterday we had another winter storm and this morning my new edge looks like an igloo LOL.I only put about 40km on it .Really impressed so far.According to syncmyride I have:sync version

Looks like I won't have my new Ford Edge Limited for Xmas.It should be on the production line first week of Jan 2011.Then there will be 3 weeks before it arrives.Ah well I sure hope all the workers at Ford have a Merry Xmas and all the best in the New Year and that you are all rested up when you build my new ford Edge limited.Oh and I still believe in Santa.LOL

Many thanks to Hunter 4814 for your words of encoragement.I have to agree with you that Ford will remedy the problems.My ford dealer is just great.Been with them since 2002.The projected date of delivery they gave me brings me around mid January. But you know I believe in Santa Clause .I just may get my new edge for Xmas LOL

Well glad to find this forum but not sure if I like what I am reading.I have my order in for the edge limited since 1 nov.I was told by my dealer here in eastern Canada there was a 10 to 12 weeks delivery date.What i have been reading is all these problems with the my ford touch and sync.I sure hope they fix this before they build my car.Anyway thanks to everyone here for all the info.
