  1. Got 2.8 installed and it is a little snappier and my Bluetooth connectivity seems improved BUT...

Backup camera does not work-- it acts like I don't have one at all

    Sync services seems non existent.

Menu > Settings > Vehicle has only two options... I'm not sure what all was there but I have no way to get to ambient lighting.

Seat heaters are missing under temp control.

These are what I have noticed so far.

I guess the service tech didn't do must testing afterward. :(

I'll have to call them tomorrow.

  2. Wow that is very interesting because I have a 2011 AWD Limited and thought it did extremely well in the snow. My last two vehicles were a 2007 4x4 Nissan Armada and before that, a 2001 4x4 Nissan Xterra both of which had all terrain tires. My development has a very steep 1/4 mile grade that I figure is at least 15% and then it comes to our driveway which is even steeper up about 200ft to our house. As far as traction goes, the ford amazed me with how well it did in the snow. Now granted, clearance is not what I'm used to but 3-4 inches is no problem. Mine has the 20" rims if that makes a difference.

  3. Ok, you young guys, here's a few more.

Many of us grew up without color TV, but instead, just a single B&W for the entire house. I always watched the Winzard of Oz in B&W.

Phones, remember dial phones? Yup, no touch tone phones. Also, you rented your phone from the phone company. Where's Lilly Tomlin and her skit about the phone company?

39 here and i can relate to everything in this thread. What i don't get about the younger generation (cant believe im saying that) is how they get by without ever knowing about some things. It surprises me constantly when mid twenty somethings at work are like ummm no, sorry don't know who or what that is. U2 or knight rider, the three stooges or ghost busters... I'm like, really?? You have no idea?

I mean I wasn't sitting around watching howdy doody on the family room carpet... But I know who he is. Wasnt alive for WWII but most of us know at least a little bit about it.

  4. whats longer? most aftermarket come with a lifetime, ford usually only gives a 3year/36mo. to me a lifetime is more than that..

But your ford one cant do half as many functions as an aftermarket. mine i can call from a phone to start, up to 1 mile of range with remote. i can turn on each of the heated seats independently and adjust the them, turn on the rear defrost, open the power lift gate

Which remote start is this? I really want to add a remote start to my AWD Limited 2011 and just have no idea what to go with.

  5. I had my first "significant" problem with my MyFord Touch/Sync yesterday. The USB and BT Audio were completely unresponsive. The only thing that fixed it was pulling fuse 29. Hopefully, this isn't going to be a continual problem. As much as I love the comfortable ride and high end interior appearance, the less than good mileage and Sync issues are leaving a bad taste.

Are you guys pulling the fuse 29 down by the driver's left leg or the one in the engine bay next to the battery? Looks like there are two.

  6. So I've had my Edge now for almost 1 week. I'm super impressed with how well it works with my Milestone & Touch Pro 2.

All I can say to FORD is hurry up with the Developers kit. I quite a few interesting idea's brewing, and I'd love to see what I can push out of the hardware.

You guys wanna start dominating the market Apple style, support the the Application developers. Is anyone aware of a developers forum?

I agree. Maybe Ford is trying to stablize things before they release it?

  7. I second that...I am supposed to get mine this week too.

It's fine.. I'm sure you will love it. Look, I'm a tech guy as well, so I know all too well the pitfalls of early adoption. I have a 2011 Limited AWD and all I can say is this car is bad ass. It is very, VERY nice inside and it drives great. I admit that the display is a little hard to press and I'd like it to be more responsive but there are no cars that have this tech. Bluetooth (for me) works 95% of the time. It's pretty amazing really. I hope and expect updates will improve the myford touch and meanwhile I'm gonna enjoy the hell outta this car--it's pretty rediculous honestly.

  8. Hi tknice. :D Waldo is correct. And there is no way to program the vehicle to do so.

While there may be some sort of aftermarket solution, off the top of my head I do not know of one.

    Good luck. :beerchug:

    haha touche' fellas.

Well, I rarely leave my car intentionally unlocked so for me, having the car lock the doors 2 minutes after I'm parked would be a good thing.

    This would be configurable obviously.

  9. Man I feel bad for you guys. I've had my 2011 Edge Limited for about two weeks now and haven't pulled the fuse once. I have seen the maintenance screen one time and it just kind of fixed itself after a few minutes. The interface definitely could be a lot faster and responsive, that much I certainly agree with. Hopefully it will improve with updates.

As for the bluetooth connectivity, I've only had to repair my iPhone 4 with it once or twice and that part seems to be working great.

Is there a chance some of the people with major problems have software that is not up to date, otherwise what could the difference be?

  10. Seriously thought about getting out of the Edge (2008) and just getting a 2011 Camaro. After seeing and reading about the 11 Edge Sport for the past few months, my mind changed. Now after driving it for the past few days Im convinced I made the right choice for me. Its definitely sporty. Im not sure if I would have been satisfied with a sports sedan, or a sports car, but I am satisfied with this Edge. And since it uses the Mustang motor, my best friend is interested in tinkering with add ons to improve the HP numbers (ill keep everyone posted) Until then I will continue to enjoy the stares wherever I roam.:stats:

A version of the mustang and the edge share the same motor?

  11. Just wanted to chime in here and say that I've had a 2011 Edge Limited for a week now and it pairs up with my iPhone 4 flawlessly. I get in the car and it auto connects quickly and makes and receives calls no problem. iPod songs and podcasts play over bluetooth perfectly. The only thing I'd like to see improved is that song name info and albumn art do not appear over bluetooth. When I plug the phone in usb they show up fine.

EDIT: I'm coming from a 2006 Nissan Armada and all I can say is this car is simply amazing.

  12. welcome BBEdgy.

Yes. You should be able to use the steering wheel to navigate the tracks.

Yeah, I can't seem to figure this out either. Which buttons exactly are you pressing on the steering wheel to change tracks? The directional pad doesn't do it.

  13. Thanks for the info on adding pictures guys. One more question though, is there nothing in the system to cycle through the wallpapers? If not, I'm kind of suprised. From what I could tell, looks like you can save only one at a time and then need click Home > Wallpaper when you want to see it?

When else is it displayed...or is this all there is?

    Thanks!!

  14. Hi guys, first time poster here...

Just purchased a 2011 edge with MyFord Touch but could not afford to add the Navigation/panoramic roof combo. I read the navigation comes on an SD card. Does this mean I can purchase this card later and it will work on the touch system? If not, how easy is it to add the integrated navigation down the road.

I did some searching on this but found nothing so I appoligize if it has been asked before.

    Thanks!
