  1. I have the trailer hitch and the electrical connector is located on the drivers side of the hitch. The sure way to confirm this is that the plug (harness) has a rubber cover attached that you remove to connect to the trailer's harnest. Also, it has one silver male contact and the remainder contacts are female, opposite to the patern on the trailer connector. . Also, there is a small clip under the bumper to secure the plug when not in use. I hope that this will help to confirm if it's the trailer harness or not. Your manual has a good picture of this in the towing section (I believe).

  2. If you have the towing package that came from the factory ( as an option) , it includes an additional transmission cooler. It also has the sway control that uses the brakes the automatically assist in keeping the trailer from swaying. You can go the the Ford site, where you can "build" the car on their site. Select the trailer package and it will explain was is included. By the way Ford has hidend the wire harness under the rear bumper, to the left of the hitch. It comes with a cover so it's a little hard to find.

I tow a 16' motor boat with no problem at all. Once on your way, you forget you are towing a trailer.

Have a great and safe trip.

  3. Nope. Can't be done right now. The dealers don't have the ability to load and activate the nav software and SD card yet. I expect it to be available at some point but I think right now they're too busy getting MFT upgrades out.

May I make a suggestion. Borrow an SD card from the dealer (taken from a car that has the full system) and pop it into your car and see if it will give you the full mapping.

  4. If you are comparing the Edge to the Lexus, you must look at two things: 1) The Lexus has a smaller cargo area. 2) Each oil change will cost twice as much as it will for the Edge. I traded my Lexus ES350 for the Edge Limited and have no regrets at all. I had no problems with the electronics whatsoever. Not to say the Lexus was a bad car. In fact the Lexus is a great car. However, you pay for it when you buy the car and each visit at the dealer. The Edge is a great car and well priced.

  5. Just picked-up my Edge Limited tonight. The salesman synced my BlackBerry Bold 9000. But, it unsynced when I drove off with my new Edge. I figured that I would re-sync it when I got home. I was able to do that. However, I don't know how to upload the address book. My Garmin GPS would upload the address book automatically. Therefore, the phone has that feature on it.

Can anyone show me how to do it or refer me to the page in the manual that refers to uploading the address book?

  6. I was able to get the sticker for my VIN last night. Does this mean that the car is actually built? Also, at the bottom of the gas guide part of the sticker, on the right there is a number (AL 191 N REC2X 115 000089 11 19 10). What do the last 6 digits mean? It looks like November 19, 2010. Would that be a built date. Also, what is this that I'm reading about whether the Ford Sync is registered or not? Sorry for all of these questions.

  7. Tarpobeach,

I tried and it didn't work using EI.for me I purchased an Edge so tried changing "lincoln" to "Ford". Still didn't work. I received my VIN on Saturday November 20/10. Could it be too soon? Also, if the VIN is issued, does that mean the car is built or only that Ford has an order for it? I'm trying to figure out a delivery date.
