Let's be clear about this.
If you order a vehicle in Canada you get the choice of factory incentives at the time or order or at the time of delivery - your choice. But it's a package deal - you can't pick and choose different incentives from different times.
If you order a vehicle in the U.S. you get the incentives (from Ford) at the time you take delivery except for a few very specific early order rebates.
If the dealer in the U.S. is guaranteeing you regular incentives then they're doing it out of their own pocket (potentially) because Ford will most certainly not do that. They're just betting that the factory incentives won't drop in the meantime.
I called for other pricing after I ordered my edge. To make sure that I was getitng the best deal. While I did find price differences all did say that they would give me the better of the deal at the time. Since the order period is usually 8 weeks, it would pretty much be the better of just two offers. Maybe some dealerships are doing it out of pocket, but here in the South Eastern Michigan area I have not had any dealer tell me that they would not do it.

Angela - that is only true in Canada, not the U.S. In the U.S. you only get whatever is in place at the time you take delivery unless there is a special offer for ordering early, etc. This comes from Ford and the dealer has no say in it.
I live in the US. Michigan to be exact. The best deal came out a week after I ordered the car. It was the deal for Feb. I ordered Jan 24. I got that deal. It was a lower rate on the lease.

I think 50 is too much. One dealer wanted to sell me an edge with 100 miles. I understand that I would put 100 on in a few days, but its just how I prefer my cars. My fusion came off the lot with 7 miles and I am hoping my newly ordered edge will come from the factory with less than 10.

Is someone able to track this vin?

I have been on the forum for a few weeks now. This site has been a saint for leasing my Ford Edge. I graduate in May and decided that I want to buy something that signifies the hard work i've put in for the past 9 years.
Can't wait to drive my new car.

Also look at a 27 month lease. On our Mariners, the residual was the same as a 24 month lease - three months longer for about the same total cost.
I will check into this. If its the same price, why not On Ford.com they only give you the normal time frames, but when I go to buy i'll ask him for 27 months.

Got my window sticker on 2/14. It was dated 2/14. I know alot of pople have asked this, but does anyone know the eaxact meaning of that date? Is that the build date or just the date the sticker was printed?
I have a est. build date of 2/21 from my dealer. Based on their current inventory I have seen edges on the lot 2 weeks after the build date. Hoping for a 3/7 delivery.

If you order today - your dealer has to give you the best of any incentive that comes out. If there is something better then they have to honor that. My dealer said that if I was to order one there was no reason to worry about the best deal at the time. He would give me the better of any deal during the order period.
I ordered a limited too base package and also added on the driver entry package, 20 inch wheels, and navig. I had to order mine. Placed order 1/24 and it will go on the line 2/21. Window sticker populated 2/14.
Tell your dealer that other showrooms are offering to lock in the best rate during the order period.
Hi. First time poster (ok, second post 'cause I did the welcome first )
I'm totally stressed out by this car purchase and my wife wants me to stop it, so I guess I need help! Sorry that this turned out to be a novel.
So here's the sitch. All I want is a Limited with Driver Entry Package and Tow Package. Unfortunately, everything that exists with that combo also includes several $thou of extras and such. I've asked a few dealers to check inventory and they surprisingly all suggested that I order one instead of selling me up.
The dilemma:
You get the incentives available at the time of delivery.
Current incentives expire in about six weeks.
The dealer insists that in his 30 some odd years of selling Fords he has never seen the incentives go down. This is just a salesman talking, and I can't find any sort of historical data on this.
The dealer says that the "Cover Your " estimate is 6 to 8 weeks, but "we've been getting them in 4 to 5 weeks". Again, salesman speak, but they are a leading volume dealer in the area and he says allocation is no problemo.
At the moment, I can't make myself take the gamble on there being equivalent incentives after 4/4/11, but on the other hand, I'm frustrated about all the bling'd out inventory that doesn't meet my needs.
Other crud that circulates through my brain daily:
1) I can do X-plan, Costco, whatever, and just want to get the best deal.
2) I got the $750 brochure coupon, but it expires in the first week of March.
Please help before this starts to affect my marriage!
Thanks!

Got my VIN today. Build date of 2/21. Should be here mid March
:happy feet: :happy feet:
Looks like a 4-8 weeks turn time in in Michigan - I guess its a good thing to live miles from World Headquaters.

I have seen alot of different things on the itming of VIN numbers. I want to followup with the dealer to see if I have a VIN number assigned yet but don"t want to be an unreasonable pest. Is two weeks too soon to expect a VIN?
Two weeks is normal for a vin. I live in the states - Michigan to be exact and I got my vin today :hyper:
Ordered 1-24 and got my vin two weeks to the date of order.
Build date is 2-21. Soon ill be driving my new car

Thanks for the information everyone I feel more comfortable about putting a deposit on ordering a limited and leasing it when I get back to the states. I was using the calculator and coming up with figures just like you all mentioned, but the dealers were tacking on $50 out of somewhere. I don't have a trade-in but will be able to put between$7k-8k down. Can't wait to get back to the states and drive it!
If you can go 24 months it will greatly reduce the price! you can see a $50 difference per month if you go that route.

2011 Edge Limited AWD - Base Price 39,670 - Z Plan - 35,942
10,500 Miles
$1,500 trade in
$3000 cash down
24 month lease - $299/month
Purchase price at end = 27078.90
I also had my guy run 15,000 miles with the trade in and $5,000 cash down. Came to $263/month for 24 months
If you compare to the Ford.com calculator it is correct. $450 is way too high.

My dealer submitted my order Jan. 24. He said that I should have an ETA on delivery in 2-3 weeks from that date and then it would take 5 weeks to build. Looking at mid or late March. Ordered Limited AWD model witha few add-ons. Lets see how long this one takes.

Awesome! So that means I could be looking at an eat between 3/7 and 3/14. Ordered 1/24 got window sticker 2/14, suppose to go on line 2/21. No ETA from dealer but looking at past inventory everything that had a sticker date of 1/24 was on the lot in two weeks.
