I finally had my knocking noise/rattle fixed which was coming from the drivers back seat area above the grab handle.

It was escalated to a field engineer who assisted the tech over the phone.

The fix was: "Roof was contacting left rear assist handle bracket. Found that weld was incorrect in its location adjusted roof assembly away from rear bracket and filled with insulation so no contact would occur."

There is still a squeaking noise that comes from passenger side dash area which can be temporarily fixed by pressing down on the dash in that area and there is an annoying rattle above my head in the headliner that was reported but not fixed.

So disappointed in this $50k Ford Edge! My dealer is great but taking the car in is such a hassle!

Well, count me in, rattle in my 2016 Sport. I only have 3,000 miles on it. Happens when it hot or cold but mostly over bumps at slower speeds. Dealer tried to fix it once and rattle was still there with a new annoying noise over my head by drivers window (mentioned in this thread by another poster). I even mentioned that my dash now has a squeak in it over some bumps.

Super frustrating as I'm sure with the rest of you, noises like this drive me absolutely crazy!

Will call dealer and ask about the TSBs

So does this mean the Ford DVD players are plug and play if I want to add the later? Is all the wiring already in the seats, including power, if I buy the DVD players through the parts department?

When did 2011 come out? Trying to decide that I have a few months to wait, wondering since that's the case, when would 2012 come out? Which month.

I cant believe anyone would put $8K down on a lease and pay $400 -$450 a month. I'm all for leasing but only using what rebates that are available and having a decent payment. $400 or less.

I just seen a Lincoln MKX commercial zero down/$399 month for 10500 miles year.

I really appreciate the nice write up! I will be ordering a Sport and not having this feature really was bothering me. So glade I can add it!

I may have to order my Edge Sport and would like to order when Job 2 starts on the lines.

 

Does anybody have a date as to when Job 2 will start and what they might include/change during that run?

To answer my own question, I was told February 2nd when I called Ford product information but he said that was subject to change too. If I have to order, I will want job 2 to be rolling just to benefit from any updates. My dealer also told me there was a shortage or "commodity" hold on the engines for the Sport.

Test drove a sport and activated the hazards several times while playing with the touch screen. There is no doubt this is a a design flaw! Hopefully Ford can come up with a creative software solution.

My butt on ice? Hmm, have to give that one some thought before I agree it's a good idea.

Actually, cooled seats are very nice in the hot summer. Keeps the leather cool and stops your legs from sweating.

Hi everybody! Looking to buy a new 2011 Edge Sport and have a couple of questions.

Is the 2011 Edge of the 2nd build yet? I thought when a car was built that the factory would call a certain run the 2nd run where all updates or revisions would be applied at the factory.

The other question is I looked at the owners manuals on the Ford web site and they are up to three(3) revisions of the manual. I downloaded the 3rd revision and I read in the manual on page 23 under Instrument Cluster/Remote Start Settings that the steering wheel was listed. My Dodge Ram that I'm trading in has a heated steering wheel and was wondering if this was a late availability option. Also cooled seats were listed.

Anybody know about these three things I'm curious about?

- 2nd run at the factory

- Heated Steering Wheel

- Cooled seats
