My sunshade has stopped working. It is in the closed position and will not open. However, The Vista Sunroof will open. Any ideas?
My shade is messed up right now as well. It will open, but the sides came unglued, an wants to wad up on the sides when you open it. Did you get your shade problem resolved? If so, what happened an how much did it cost.

My sunshade has come unglued along the sides of the track, and wants to wad up when you open the shade. Has anyone here tried to tackle repairing this thing on their own? Im looking to trade my 07 edge, and i hate to take it to the dealership an have them try to knock a few grand off my trade in value. If anyone has repaired this could they post the proceedure so i can decide if i want to try this or not?

The fan on my 07 edge seems to be either jammed or going bad. When you turn on the heater or AC the blower fan makes a terrible buzzing sound from inside the dash. The sound seems to come from the upper part of the dash, but im not sure. Has anyone else experiecenced this problem, and if so, how did you correct it?

did you by chance try a DVD lens cleaner disk and try cleaning the lens on your player?
I tried two different cleaner disks, and i get the same disk dirty error. I even went at far as to download a torrent of the 8p disk for my 07 edge, and it gave me the same error. I removed the burned disk, and later tried it again, and it loaded up an installed the 8p disk, worked for about 2 miles on the road, and then game me the dirty disk error again. Loaded the old 4p disk back into the system, and had to confirm that i wanted to overwrite the newer software, and so far the old disk is working again. I honestly believe its the player going bad IMO. That was stupid for ford to go with a system that was disk based to begin with.
I was liking my edge, but here in the last 500 miles of the warrenty going out, the panorama roof is tore up, and now the navigation system is going in the tank as well! My sunshade became unglued on the tracks, and it wants to wad up when you try to open the roof

My sun shade has came unglued, the hot sun must have turned the glue loose on the sided of the shade, so when you open the roof, it wads up on the sides! This thing actually tore up about 250 miles out of warrenty Anyone know how to go about fixing this? Or how much the dealer will charge to fix it?

I drove the CX7, CX9, Edge, and the Murano when i was test driving crossovers last year. Here are the impressions of each vehicle.
Ford Edge: drove this one 1st. It had great power, felt good driving. the day we drove this thing was a windy day on the interstate, and it still drove good.
CX7: seemed to really have power, but just didn't have that refined feel to me. The interior was pretty plane.
CX9: Was very nice inside, it had a sluggish feel to me, and seemed to feel like i was driving a top heavy tank.
Murano: seemed to feel like a car when we drove it. the back up camera was nice addition as well. had decent power, didn't care for the dash layout. Liked the keyless ignition system.
I wound up buying the edge, and haven't regretted it once. Each vehicle we drove was loaded, and all an all, im still glad we got the edge.
Only features i would like to have had was the keyless ignition, and the backup camera.

I would like to add a backup camera, and a DVD player as well. I might as well use the built in monitor for something

I wish someone would post a pic of the wheel without the chrome cover, i don't want to have to go throutgh the trouble of removing the chrome cover just to see what the wheel looks like.

FYI
I found a interface unit for a backup camera for a 2007 MKX. The website is avelectronic.com.
Can anyone tell how to remove the navi sys in a 2007 MKX.
Well, did you buy the interface? Do you really need it? Does it really work? How much?

I tried a million different things and it finally just stopped. I'm not sure I could pin-point what was the cause since I tried several things at a time. It might have been the line in converter which I upgraded or that I was splicing lines from the rear doors. Either way I'm just happy it works like I want it too now!
The custom box was fun to make. It took me a few days since I had to wait for the glue to dry. You can see the box with my buddy Bob in the last picture. It looks like a wierd trapezoid. The only thing extra is that once you remove the original brackets you can fill more space with your new box and brackets so it takes a while to get all the measurements right. We added a bit of space on the back - it's not flat but has a sort of bump out on it with an extra panel. The cables run out of the bottom.
Bamaredwingsfan - I was also disappointed with the supposed audiophile system. My '01 explorer had a lot better sound. Anyways, I was originally going to just replace the stock 8" sub with my own favorite brand's 8". My buddy the 'car audio guru' said part of the problem was the plastic housing of the stock'er. It needed something more rigid like wood to not sound so soft.
Hope this helps...
yeah i can understand that. I would like to think that a really bad ass MTX or Kicker 8 would have to improve the sound somewhat though. Anyone know who makes the factory speakers for the edge? im sure they are just no name somethings, just not sure what.

I bought the Edge because I wanted an AWD vehicle for the winter months I live in the Northeast so in the winters AWD is a must if you don't want to be stuck at home. And I picked the Edge because of the styling and no pun intended the Edginess of it. There are a million Escapes and Envoys and Equinox', Muranos around here and I didn't want what everyone else had. Also in the Summer months I drive a bunch for work and the ride quality in the Edge is much better then a true SUV and better on gas as well how little it may be it saves in the long run.
Also I don't know why putting a "Brush Guard" on, is such a big deal Ive seen them on 60 K Mercs . They are only called "Brush Guards" because thats what they were originally use for. I'm not trying to turn the Edge into an Offroading Machine I know its limits. I just like the look of it and again no one else had it, it sets my Edge apart from the rest.
Hell where im from there called cow catchers

since i got a loaded edge, im thinking of replacing the SEL with gold lettering and adding plus in gold as well.

I like the idea myself. I had HD radio in my 99GT and i loved it. I kept the HD radio an Subs when i traded it in on the edge. But i don't want to remove the navi just for HD. Thinking of putting the system in my work car a 99Zx2. I would consider the ugrade the new factory HD radio only if it comes built into the Navi system. I imagine that you could just Ebay your old navi and use the money to buy the new unit.

I think that all the SEL Plus's should have came with an emblem that says Plus on the rear liftgate. I want to add it to my Edge, but i don't know where i would find something like that. A few examples down below.
SEL +

Ive been tinkering with the idea of a lift kit and some bigger tires

Now i still have my old factory mufflers off of my old 99 mustang GT. I thought about putting one of the mufflers on just to see what it would sound like.

I just don't get the bump im used to in the audiophile system. It sounds good, but im lookin for more bass. I wonder if the factory sub could be replaced with a better aftermarket sub in the factory enclosure? Or better yet, i wonder if it would be possible to reverse engineer a sub and enclosure for the driver side of the hatch area to double the bass output while still looking stock? any ideas, im not looking to get rid of the factory enclosure, just improve on it.
My old 99 mustang had 2 12' orion XTR with 500+ watts of power, so maybe im just alittle spoiled?
Also what type of sub would i need for the factory enclosure? sealed enclosure sub, ported enclosure sub, or a freeair sub?
-
Well, it does take time to evaluate the results of these modifications, and with a few more days, I decided my Edge still droned a bit too much, so I had Mighty replace that cute little Magnaflow...
...with a larger one.
The level of the drone is down about another 10dB which means it isn't audible at all. NOW I'm finished!
This reinforces my earlier statement that if I had to do it all over again, I'd start with just the front muffler and NO rear mufflers...
...and I might experiment with that in a few months. :yup:
Just exactally what is the model number of that muffler you installed last?

I have the Vista Roof, and in my owners manual, it cautions against using it, unless traveling above 12 mph. I guess it's only active if you have the roof open, and it's for the passenger rocket assisted escape seat. If my wife nags me one more time about my driving I will ask her to push it, and then I can refer to her as "My first wife...."
hahahhaha I hear you dude, i recently got married, and im already feelin you on that one

My navi system is named bessie! :happy feet:
Transmission bang!

07 here, I'm experiencing the hard shift bang problem as well. Then one day it would barely pull itself around in a parking lot. I checked the tranny fluid and it was scorched looking. This was around 108k miles. At about 60k I had asked the dealership about changing the tranny fluid and filter, shop guy said aww we don't touch those until 150k, now I got problems. You would think that in a sealed unit where there is no pan and filter, only screen, they would recommend changing fluid more often and not less often.
