  2. Just because a company says it will fit or it's for your edge double and even triple check! My intake? No good! My exhaust? No good! Engine lights on,blinking etc... Had to remove everything and go back to stock. It appears the company's I've delt with just assumed that a 2010 is the same as a 2011 and I can tell you for a fact through trial and error there not.

Piping is different size the a 2010 for just about everything. That's all,I've learned my lesson and will be waiting for some mods to come out that have been tested on a 2011 before going through this again.

  3. Well after phone call after phone call with WeaponR techs and Ford techs turns out that the intake system I had for my 2011 edge was for a 2010. Seems that the piping is different from last year. Yeah a half inch difference and that's why the engine light keeps tripping. Per WeaponR my edge was getting too much air through a smaller pipe which was calling for more fuel. It was a 3inch pipe and they said I need a 4inch pipe. I took it out and reistalled all the stock piping drove a cycle and no light. They do not have one for the 2011 yet but hopefully soon they said. Now I'm not a mech so I don't know much about what they were talking about. I had to measure the stock intake against the aftermarket one and after the measurements that's what they came up with. The pipe is too small. Too much air being forced through a pipe that was too small. :banghead:

  4. Did you reinstall the mass airflow sensor correctly? If the filter was over-oiled it could have fouled it. If it was doing engine damage the light would be back on immediately. Could be a one time thing. Just keep an eye on it and if it's flashing get it looked at asap.

Thanks bro, Yes I did double check the MAS and it's on there correctly and the weaponsR intake filter cone does not require oil per there tech's and install directions. Hopefully then a one time thing since it's been on for 3 weeks and just went today as well as been clear every since my guy checked and cleared it.

  5. Any help/input would be great here fellow edge owners. I've had my intake system in my edge for about 3 weeks now and I've had intakes in EVERY car I've every owned and this issue is new to me. Just today while driving the engine light went on. I have a buddy in town who has a shop so I went right to him and he plugged it in, it read "bank 1, bank 2 too rich" He re set it and off I went. Question is what does that mean? He said it's no big deal and if it goes on again just come by and he'll clear it again, my concern is there is a problem right? Should I take it out and put the stock plumbing back in? It drives fine and sounds great but I'm worried I'm doing engine damage and it's brand new, just hit 400 miles.

    Thanks for your help

  6. I'd like to upgrade my stock 2010 Limited 18" rims with a set of 20". But I don't know what size will work. What bolt pattern, offset, and width? Will any modifications need to be done to the car, as in suspension, etc.? Will my speedometer be off? Thanks for any help.

I got my wheels and tires from TireRack you can give them a call and they can answer all your questions. As far as tire size goes your going up on rim size so your tire size will go down, like if you have 245/60/18 then you would probably go with a 245/50/10 depending on where you live I'd watch how low pro you go with tires. No mods need to be done,it's a simple swap of rims and tires, just make sure you have the TPMS installed and reset.

  7. So it looks like we ended up at the same place. None available.

But all is not lost! ... if you really want a set, order the blanks from Ford (get a reseller discount if you can) and have some company like R1Concepts cut them for you.

The blanks on Fordparts.com for the AWD rears are about $65 each. (~$50 if you can get reseller status).

    * I'm waiting on a quote for slotting. *

UPDATE: Pricing on BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanks) = $20 a rotor for cutting and $5 each for zinc plating, you cover shipping.

You've made me a very happy man! Thanks bro!

  8. The last place that I bought slotted rotors was R1concepts.com. They are a pretty good company. Make sure you get their premium blanks though instead of their bottom barrel stuff.

I don't see Edge's past 2010 listed, but if you call them, they can make you a set (I'm 99% sure on this). They have some pretty good options available as well: Slots (what I got), holes, or both. And then what ever coatings you want. I can vouch that their black coating keeps the rust off of the non-contact sections.

Prices are very competitive. They were having a coupon sale a little while ago, but I can't find a working code. I just emailed a rep that I knew from over there and asked about rotors and coupons. Will report back.

    That's GREAT news! Thank you!

  9. Same thing happened to me. I purchased winter rims and sensors for my 11' Edge and had the local tire shop install them. I assumed that they reprogrammed the sensors to match the car. When I installed my stock summer tires last week I thought that I would have to reprogram the sensors but so far no warning light. My wife has had it on the highway a few times since and still no warning lights.

I called my local dealer and they said that as long as the light was not on, that the system was functioning properly. I then asked if the new 11' Edges automatically reset the sensors or if Ford had designed the software to allow for (2) sets of tires one for winter and one for summer. Nobody at the dealer knew the answer.

Are there any Ford tech's out there that could add some insight into thsi issue?

Thanks in advance for any help,

I threw 20's on my 2011 SEL AWD from tirerack had them install the TPMS and no warning lights. My dealer tech said that sometimes it learns the new wheels and there is no need to have them reset. So far no problems and I have checked the pressure often and everything is in check.
