Thanks all. Glad to know that it is a typical occurance and not something happening to just me.
I noticed this on my Edge when first got it. just an annoying high pitch ringing. i was assuming something like what cal3thousand said.
It's unrelated but...
When high beam is activated during day time or when the headlight comes on, there's a mechanical clunking noise under the hood. Any idea what this is? Sounds too loud to be a relay.
the 2011 edge doesnt have high beams. the "high beams" are merely just a flap system that cuts off the top of the beam

very nice! i wanted to do the same and paint the housing but i was afraid of me screwin it up with the sealant and getting moisture in there

the dash doesnt come with one. at least i havent found it yet. no oil temp either. no bueno

The SST is there as an option. i use it when i feel like short shifting to limit revs or to stay in the higher rpms without shifting to the next gear [i.e.- gettin on the freeway fast enough to overtake Porsches ^_^]

Lights being pointed a bit off center to the passenger side is normal. just a precautionary thing as to limit peripheral light towards oncoming traffic. same practice is used on many car makes and models.
*reminder to those installing new headlights. ALWAYS check the headlight adjustment height with EVERY new installation. most people dislike being blinded

Grey, my thought exactly since i've observed the same issue. i get a rough feel/grinding sound that i know is from the rotors themselves against the calipers and not any other mechanical part. i'm almost certain it's not the ABS like Thinline and JusDaFax said. it happens when i dont drive for a while and feels like typical brakes that are cold. they just need a lil warmin up

no the minutes arent affected, just the hours.
i take that back, i recollect the minutes indeed drifting a tad bit. its really annoying when i forget my phone (my only form of mobile timekeeping) and the clock changes
*also, not a biggie but, the ambient colors seem to revert back to default blue sometimes
