Leveraging from the bottom would be best, due to the midpoint retaining tabs on either side and the locator/pivot tab at the top.

Likely because of this simplicity, the GEN 1 & GEN 2 Edge/MKX/Nautilus Workshop Manuals do not provide any removal and installation procedure, though there is a electrical diagnostic Pinpoint Test covering the front & rear Power Liftgate switches, if that interests you.

    Good luck!

    That should do it...thanks.

  2. 2011 Edge Limited. Backup camera died and replaced with Part #: BT4Z19G490B (park assist camera/back up camera). Was told that I would no longer have my backup guide lines. I asked if it needed to be programed or configured. I was told no. The lines will not be there and the magnification function will not work (although it will have the icon). I did not know about ForScan software until a few minutes ago. But this is the version "B" camera that replaced the version "A" so not sure if ForScan programming would do it.

I have seen a YouTube video on my model that worked after programming, but that might have been a version "A" camera that this version "B" replaced, as it's 5 years old.

Can anyone shed light on this?

  3. Replaced original camera a few years ago with a Chinese camera off Amazon(I did the replacement). Had lines as the listing said it would. Camera died. Now took it to Ford under an extended warranty. New OEM camera...no lines no magnification. New camera doesn't do it. All settings correct. Was told that the "new" camera does not do the lines. There's no programming. That's what i was told.

Now, if I swap that for a camera on amazon that says it does lines (because it's older and not OEM), would I have lines? I bet I would.

  4. 2011 Limited.

P0456 came up a few days again after replacing with a Motorcraft valve (you can imagine the first word out of my mouth). Low cost and did it myself, so I'm OK with that. Would probably fail eventually.

My thinking is now I'm not so lucky as it could be the canister, a more expensive and complex repair.

I will note that between the valve replacement and the return of the code, some gas was spilled while using a 5 gallon container and might have gotten into the EVAP system.

If gas is in the EVAP system, will it eventually evaporate?

    Any other thoughts.

  5. From WWWPerfA_ZN0W, but posted to his board as this thread is old...

Regarding "Just curious, any of you all top off the tank after shutoff? These systems get more sensitive to that year by year, and apparently some of the "overage" (i.e., raw fuel) can spill into the EVAP system."

I had a slight gas smell in the garage with a P0456 code before I did something stupid.

I replaced the valve and cleared the code.

Then I had a 5 gallon gas can (fresh gas) that was not needed, so I poured it into the tank, some spilled (stupid).

P0456 came back a few days later.

If some went into the EVAP system tripping the P0456 again, will the gas evaporate on its own, eventually?

  6. The street isn't missing, it's just that the Touch software can't find it. Once I entered that latitude/longitude as wellas synced from Google Maps, the address was found and the street is clearly in the map database.

Here's the address and coordinates if you want to try:

2729 Bison Ranch Trl, Heber-Overgaard, AZ

    N 34.39, W 110.53 or N 34D, 23M, 27S, W 110D, 31M, 35S

  7. I tried to get directions for a trip, and the street isn't in the Nav system. I've confirmed with both Google Maps and MapQuest. I've "sent" the Google Maps directions to the car via Sync (I'll try that tomorrow), but I was under the impression that Google doesn't actually send the directions, just the address (which it won't recognize).

I suppose I could get Long/Lat from Google Maps and use that, but has anyone else had this issue?

  8. I'm sure it's not by itself, but this has happened three times in six weeks and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced it.

I've come out of a store and found my liftgate open. I keep the transmitter in my pocket with my cell and just find it hard to believe that the cell is hitting the liftgate button twice within three seconds and I'm close enough to the car.

I'm going to isoltae the transmitter with nothing else in my pocket, but it just seems strange.

  9. Brand new vehicle. Noticed that when accelerating (whether from stop or while moving) car pulls to the right. The harder the acceleration, the harder the pull. Dealer says that's normal and said they test drove another Edge to verify. Said they all do it.

I'm wondering the first time someone aceelrates into another car how fast a recall would come.

I always thought that a car should go straight when accelerating, coasting and stopping.

Can any of you try an acceleration test and see if the vehicle pulls right.

    (I've also posted in Transaxel-FWD)
