  1. Dealers are instructed to "hold put" for the time being unfortunately. TSB is found to not be effective and a new service procedure is being researched. Keep in touch with your dealer and make sure they've contacted Tech Assistance in this matter.

  2. To the original poster, if you're still having issues and would like some help, please PM me some details on your situation, who your dealer is and such if you'd like some assistance.

Allen Kirby can vouch for my claims on my tenure at the Fusion boards, I may be in a position to help you...

  3. got the edge on Mar 20 2007 that was a quick 3k... going to use Motorcraft FL-400S bought at the local walmart (so glad they carry it) and castrol fully syntetic oil since it comes from the factory with semi syntetic i belive we can go directly to fully syntetic. i hope the change is rather quick... anyone have any idea where the filter is located?? easy to get to?

I know this was posted on here some time ago.

Oil filter is on the front side of the oil pan that faces the front bumper.

  4. My Navi is named Alice. Alice is my new best friend :yup:

Whoah! That's my name as well.

Last year my girlfriend, a friend, and myself were driving to Florida in a Lincoln LS. I don't recall how or when exactly, but we started calling her Alice as well. The name has stuck through with every other company or personal vehicle with navigation afterwards.

  5. ....

Sad that what appears to be a well assembled vehicle succumbed to a transport accident/lack of attention. I do wonder why it wasn't noted at the rail yard, or by the truck transport.

    Onward.

Because of the number of hands it goes through. When a damage claim gets submitted by the dealer no one ever gets held accountable because of the "anonymity" of the whole transport chain. Believe me, it's been a real PITA for the dealers and those that work (or worked) directly with them.

  6. I was really sick of the chick by the third commercial. But I do like how in the first one you see her easily close the rear with one hand. That is the biggest surprise I discovered when I had used a Ford unit to promote to my dealers. I'm always looking at the easibility to close the rear on any SUV/CUV etc and have yet to find one that is as easy to close than the Edge.

Also, I want to know what I'm doing wrong, I never got my laptop to fully hide in that console.

  7. That is great to hear! Thank you for your consideration and purchase of a Ford Edge!

Another thing, and this is the key thing, it's all in how you DRIVE a vehicle.

I've been tagging along with a mentor in my new job. He's driving an F-150 5.4L V8. I was with him Tuesday when he got gas. He did a manual miles driven over gallons filled and got just a hair over 21MPG! I was like "ARE YOU EFFING SERIOUS?!?"

Then today we fill up again, 20.4 MPG!

    How did he do it?

Never went around speeding on the highway, guy was literally like 2 MPH over the limit at any time. Stuck to the right hand lane, and excelerated lightly (not grandpa like, but smoothly and quietly). Thing is, I later had to go make the same trip we did a day before. I went in my Milan, tearing up the road, passing whenever I could, speeding and what do you know, I shaved off less than 10 minutes than when I road with him during my 4+ hour trip. My fuel economy, 23.2 MPG :redcard:

  8. The glare was much worse before retrofitting.

From a pre-production, non-retrofitted unit. Taken in a dimly lit garage at night. Notice the outer ring is silver and not dark. Inner ring stayed the same. Chrome trim pieces (not pictured) were removed. No flash, just how the human eye would see it here.

  9. Wholesale for the reminder of the 07s should be starting up next week. As for 08 options, I know SYNC is coming, but not sure if it's available with 08 Job #1. Also, I can't confirm, but from the communications and discussions with my former co-workers, the center stack was to change like the 08 Escape with the modern knobs and such.

I highly doubt there will be a third row in the Edge. It's going to be cramped and you can get the third row on the Explorer, the Freestyle/Taurus X, and for 09 the "Fairlane." The Edge wasn't meant to haul a huge quantity of people.

And yes, ALL Edges will have the tan headliner. It's a costcutting measure. Look at just about any other Ford and the headliners are beige/tan despite the color of the interior.

  10. Not to mention, is on the monroney label AKA window sticker?

An order will not be changed once it has been scheduled. Once the dealer heard that the wheels were on commodity, they must have changed the order to get yours through quicker. Did anyone verify this with you?

  11. For whatever reason, your dealer didn't order until January.

I would estimate it will be at your dealer by April. Do you have an order number and who is your dealer?

  12. Produced last week and on its way.

I can't recall what production week was being scheduled on the first week of the month, but I'm assuming your vehicle will be built sometime in the first week of April

  14. Holdback was created as a way to withhold cash from the dealer so they could pay their taxes. Think of it as your personal tax withholdings. That refund you get in the spring isn't extra money, it's money the government withheld from your earnings to cover your tax liability. Ford holdbacks some cash when the dealer purchases vehicles. When they are sold to a retail customer, that money is credited back to them, regardless of how soon or how long it takes to sell.
