  1. This is my second Edge. First was a loaded 08 SEL, and now a 13 Limited that's actually a year old now.

Added a few things same as I did on the 08

    *Mud Flaps

    *Sport Wing Body Side Moldings

    *Tinted front door windows

I work at a Ford Truck "only" Dealer, no cars. I was able to do "D" Plan.

  2. I really love my 2013 Limited.

Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

I have around 15 "Alerts" programed into my Touch Screen for my Sirius Radio. If anyone is unfamiliar what they are, they are Alerts that one can Program when a Favorite Band or Song comes on any Sirius Radio Channel. There is a Pop Up Box that comes up on your Touch Screen that will "Alert You" when one of your programmed Alerts come up. It seems like most of the time it either comes up and disappears before I even have a chance to select it, or it "Beeps" and the "Alert" never even shows up on my screen. I do have the latest software in my system. I have even refreshed my Alerts several times and it was no help.

I work at a Ford Dealer and I even checked for TSB's or SSM's and found nothing.

Anyone have any idea's, or is anyone else having this same concern?

I'm getting ready to take one of my Kimbers to my Touch Screen :)

    Thanks

    Dom

  3. Scott, I did give the Eco a fair shot, maybe the V6 Eco would be in my garage if they would put them in there.

My 08 SEL had the V6, and I drove it for almost 5 years, I guess I just got used to that.

    Engine Specs:

    3.5 V-6

    Horsepower (SAE net @ rpm) 285 @ 6,500

    Torque (lb.-ft @ rpm) 253 @ 4,000

    Compression ratio 10.8:1

    2.0 Eco 4 Cyl

    Horsepower (SAE net @ rpm) 240 @ 5,500

    Torque (lb.-ft. @ rpm) 270 @ 3,000

    Compression ratio 9.3:1

  4. I work at a Ford Dealer, but we can only sell Big Trucks, Cross Overs, SUV's, no cars at all. I just sold my 2008 SEL that I purchased new. It had 45k on the clock. I ordered a 2013 Limited with an EcoBoost. It arrived at the dealership, and I drove it home, overnight one night. I told the Sales Mgr to Dealer Trade it away, and I ordered a 2013 with a 3.5. It just came in a week ago, and I love it. MPG difference is not worth it to me.

Edit: I know the EcoBoost Guys are going to blast me, but thats okay :)

  5. I put 20" Wheels and tires on my 08 Edge. I have 4 Michelin OEM Tires, just the 4 tires only, that I removed from my 2008 Ford Edge. They have 17,300 miles on them, and they were rotated every 5,000 miles. They're in really nice shape too. They are located in NE Ohio, at 44446. I prefer local pickup please.

Price is $150.00 for all 4

    Thanks

    Dom

  6. I put a "Cat Back" Magnaflow System on my 08. I'm very impressed with the fit and quality of the system. Not too loud at all. Just has a slight groan noise around 40-45 mph once in O/D and the Torque Converter is in "Lock Up". The Huge Tips look awesome coming out of there, and it sounds GREAT. I did it myself in under an hour on the garage floor with an 1/4" Air Ratchet and a Floor Jack.

I sent in a "Best Offer" of $500 shipped on Ebay, and they accepted it

  7. The 18's have the problem of the outer clear coated aluminum rim pitting and flaking. The 20's have the issue of the plastic cover coming loose and clicking when turning.

Yes, you are correct about the loose covers. I've heard of no real chrome issues with the 18's, just the outer aluminum lip corrosion and pitting on the 18's. I've heard of a small handful of the actual chrome clad itself bubbling on both the 18's and the 20's, no real big numbers though.

I've decided to go for the 20's in the nicer weather and run the 18's in the bad weather and have tires mounted on them both, so it's an easy swap when I do swap them.
