  1. My wife just purchased an 09 Sport with the 22" inch rims and I am wondering if we should get a second set of rims with all season tires for the snow season in Wisconsin. Any one have experience in the snow with the 22" wheels on the Sport that would like to respond? Anyone else switch tires/rims for winter?

    Thanks,

    J

    F.Y.I.

I have a 2008 with the factory 20"s and they pack snow in the rims quite bad causing severe vibrations due to the imbalance of the wheel.

I had 20" Harley Davidsons on my Expo and they too were horrible for that.

If you are running in "deep" snow i would rrecommend going to 18 or 17 inch rims if they clear the caliper. I will be making that change before winter this year.

Love the look of those 22"'s on the Sport by the way!

  2. ok so here's the issue. when my memory seat button is pressed, the mirrors adjust to the preset positions, but then when i press "1" to revert back to other seat position the mirror does not return to preset position it points all the way to the right and even "clicks" because its trying to go further right then its allowed. Ive disconnected the battery with no luck.. anyone have any issues like this? i haven't taken it to ford yet, but plan on getting it checked out unless i overlooked something.. and i have tried to reset the mirror memory position to where it needs to be but it always loses its memory whenever the seat memory buttons are pressed... no prob with left mirror or seats though. thanks in advance..

my mirrors would move a little bit at a time when trying to adjust by memory or manually, not smooth and continuous like normal,

dealer replace both mirror motors, all is good now

  3. Was just in the dealership looking at the 2010 Fusion and the Sport model with the same 3.5 and six speed as our edge, has a "select shift" shifter.

Has an option to manually shift

Is this something that could be done to our Edge's with software update, shifter and some wiring?

    Could be a great mod

I know there are some people on this site that really wanted more ontrol over there transmission

    Any thoughts?

  4. Thats a winter avg for me, usually -20 celsius here in Canada the last few months

AWD plus i'm bad for letting it idle

Summers I get mid 20's mpg

Its funny how the " old ones" are getting decent milage compared to some of the new products out there.

Not to mention the new diesels, i feel sorry for those guys

  5. Hey everybody,

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Every once in a while, completely random I turn the key and it cranks and cranks on the "auto start" until it times out without even a cough. I cycle the key, and it starts up mint. Pretty embarising with people in the car.

Love this thing but this is one of those issues that the the dealer has never been able to replicate, also , again very rare but i have a nasty thunk if i hit the gas on a rolling start, like its confused when downshifting to 1st.

Just wondering if anyone else out there has had similar problems

And i f i keep my foot out of it i average about 18mpg

    Thanks

  6. Hi Guys, Just started having problems with sync. It has worked perfectly for over a month now. Then the sync "voice" started "breaking up" like a bad cell phone ,also it will no longer connect to my cell phone, which it always has. I have misplaced my manual and the web site for sync has no info. Is there a way to Reboot sync? Any help will be greatly appreciated

P.s. I do not think it is my pnone because it will connect to other devices via bluetooth.

  7. On all the other vehicles I've owned when I locked the doors remotely (from the key fob thingy) the headlights flashed or the horn chirped. Something to tell you that you really locked the doors. Unless I'm totally missing it the Edge does nothing. Is there any way to enable this type of remote lock feedback?

    TIA

Mine also Honks when pushing lock twice,

Check the settings in the menu on the dash display, I think thats were it is.

  8. Hi:

I am living winnipeg too. How much for ur real gas consumption? my sel awd model is going up to 17.1 L/100 Km!

Well, I do alot of Highway driving for business and just returned from Regina and area, in those -20 temps we had early this week and I can say my milage has really improved since new, I have about 5,000km on it now and I averaged over 22mpg ( 10.5L/100km ) on the whole trip, I was very pleased considering it never shut off during the day and it included alot of city as well. Much betterthen when I first got it, when I was getting around 13mpg ( 18L / 100lm ). It really depends on how you drive it. I saw a trick on the forum that if you can keep the rpm under 2000 at all times it gives you great milage. Kinda hard though it makes you drive like a granny.

    Good Luck!

  9. OK.. I hate snow storms.. but this winter I have the Edge.. and I'm just waiting for a real snowfall to test my Edge out..

Im not wussy driver either.. . I would drive my sport coupe through anything.. except a couple of feet of snow.

It's just so much more fun than my old Expedition. Don't get me wrong I loved the old truck for busting drifts but this Edge is way nicer on slippery streets, none of the clunking that the " A4WD" in the Expo provided.

    Enjoy

  10. I have been a member for a while, but never posted yet. Just have to say I love this thing! We finally got some snow here in Winnipeg Cananda and with the traction control off, this thing is so much fun on the back roads. Like a slow motion rally car.

With the system engaged very sure footed and composed. Beautiful vehicle.

    Post your thoughts.
