Update on my situation.
Dealership ordered the apin module on Monday, and my car was done Tuesday afternoon. They put the update on the new apin as they have to load the software on it anyway.
I pick my car up and immediately notice some strange things. I no longer have the following:
- heated seat controls
- backup camera
- seek/voice command (steering wheel controls)
- sirius radio
Called the dealership and they are working with the technology team at Ford to figure out why some settings aren't showing up.
Other than that the new system is much faster and the general screen layout/buttons look nicer.
- heated seat controls

Dropped my car off at the dealership yesterday, got a call back a few hours later... A-pin module is toast. Can't order until Monday, so won't have my car back until Wednesday it's looking like.
On the good side, they'll be installing the update once they get the new A-pin, and I'm driving around in a 2012 Sport with 7 miles on it for the next few days :happy feet:

I was on 2.11. I'm dropping mine off at the dealer this morning. My screen is black constantly. No radio or anything.

I downloaded it last night (but didn't install it yet) for my daughter's Focus and on the page where you have to select Nav or No Nav it clearly says that if you have Nav and proceed with the download then Nav won't work until you receive the new SD card in the mail.
Tried the update this morning, hit the OK button after the initial files load and let it do it's thing. Came back an hour later, black screen, no response. Let it sit for another 30 minutes, and nothing.
Turned off the car, pulled Fuse #29 let it sit for 20 minutes, put fuse back, started car, black screen.
Guess I'm heading to the dealer

What kind of range do you get with this remote start? The literature says 300' but I am torn between adding this to our SEL or the bidirectional one that has a 1000' range.
I haven't tested it farther than about 50'-60' yet.

Thank you AndyMeyer, this is exactly what I was looking for!
Is this key standard on 2011+ Ford Edge's without the intelligent key? Does the key have a ford logo on the other side? Do you know what they had to do/add to your car for the remote start? Was it the standard hood pop button, PATS bypass, and wiring? Did they give you a cost?
I recently called a local dealer and they quoted me $499 for parts and install of remote start. This seems reasonable, but I imagine this was just for the 100 series single button fob. I'm sure it'll cost more to buy a new key, have it programmed, and cut.
This is the standard key on the 2011 Edge without the driver's entry package (push button start). It does have a ford logo on the other side. It was installed this way when I bought the car so I'm not sure what they had to do.
I do know that I have 2 factory keys without remote start (only lock, unlock, and alarm buttons, 4th spot is empty) and I have 2 keys with remote start like you see above. So the dealer cut/programmed 2 new keys with remote start for the vehicle.
Hope this helps a little bit.

I wonder if the dealer could just reprogram the lift gate button on the '07 keys to work with the remote starter instead of the lift gate...
This is my 2011 Edge key with dealer installed remote start:

Just run a vehicle health report from the car instead when your phone is connected via bluetooth. Then sign in to syncmyride.com and it will have the information.
