To be honest, I vacumn them and there is really nothing to show that they have even been used. These mats are first class. All I have done to them is vacumn them. Note the shapes, I was very happy with the way they fit. The cargo fit like a glove, you get what you pay for. Hopefully this will show you what I have. the cargo mat is square, looks funny but it fills the space. Thanks for checking it out, think I will keep my day job. Ray
  2. These mats are gorgeous. Color is black. 5 total. 2 front, 2 back and one for the cargo. Check out the Lloyd's website. I was concerned that they would not fit exactly. They do. They were expensive, $400. I went for their top of the line and was not disapointed at all. You want to drive around in your stockings. I live in Las Vegas so they have not seen snow, rain or mud. They did make my 2012 Sport quieter and helped with heat from the road. Why am I selling something I bought 6 months ago? Traded the Edge on a 2013 Ford Explorer Limited. I kept the mats hoping they would fit the Exploder but they don't. Asking $200 plus shiping. They are like new. Text me at 702-204-2039 for any questions or pictures if you desire. Thanks for looking. Ray

  3. And Ford's response:

A round of thanks to C_Bova for going directly to the source and asking the question. I am not surprised by the responce but would like to know if this exhaust setup is as efficient as the previous. Hey I am an engineer and things like 305 HP then and now it is ? make me just a little crazy. Thanks everyone for your input and you guys with the real thing just keep smiling. I still like my Edge Sport and will continue to enjoy it.

  4. i dont' think i'd waste the money to change it out myself. now if ford came forward and says hey yeah we made the change and explains it, that's a different story. i'm going to wait and see if they reply to my email.

I agree, I would like to here if they respond to your email. Someone else in this forum had converted their exhaust to different mufflers by a muffler shop. They took some pictures and one was of the exhaust pipes cut at the Y. They were not happy with the sound and were going to purchase a new exhaust system and put it on. They even did some tests to see if the Sport was faster with the real duals and I believe that it was the same with no difference. Now I cannot find that posting anywhere. I would love to hear from that person. All I know is that I went for the Sport for three reasons, interior, wheels and the engine with real dual exhaust. Remember a few weeks ago when a woman took Honda to small claims court about the gas milage and won. If Ford has it in writing about the engine having real dual exhaust and then just blows it off and hope no ones looks to see what they really have, they deserve to get their knuckles rapped. I will wait and see if they respond to your email and thanks for taking the time to help me with this mystery.

  5. Hi, my sport is AWD and does yours have AWD. I wonder if that has any thing to do with it. When I check with ford for a new exhaust system they said that what I had was it. I think they changed and possible all Edges have the same single muffler.

Looking closer it appears that yours is AWD so that shoots that thought about AWD and FWD being different.

Anyone know a Ford dealer that sells wholesale online and ships? I really think that Ford has pulled a fast one. If I can buy it right, I will just change it out myself, looks like a two hour job including a couple of beers to assist in the bonding with the new exhaust.

  6. I have a 2012 SPORT & it has true dual just like the 2011's:

Perhaps there was a mid-year revision?

I took delivery of mine in September 2011

Dingo, thank you very much and you are a lucky man. It does appear that in 2011 the Sport did have true duals and in 2012 they changed it to save some money. If someone with a 2012 - 3.5L engine could look and see if they have just one muffler I would really be interested. I am not interested in making it louder, I just want it to run good and occassionally I do like to open it up and let the ponies loose. It does run good but I am always looking for a little more. I have gotten some good information off of the site and I appreciate everyone taking the time to assist me in understanding what is going on. I am still working on a light in the glove box and a docking station for my radar detector. Any info there would be appreciated. Here is a couple pictures of my ride.

  8. Is it still 2 pipes going into and out of the muffler? If so that's still dual exhaust. Doesn't matter how the mufflers are packaged.

    t

It is two cat converters, two exhaust pipes running to the back and then the Y connection into one and then into the muffler. Go to fordparts.com and look at the 2012 - 3.7L and you will see a diagram showing how it wasbefore. Now look up the eco 4 and you will see how one pipe goes into the center of a single muffler and it has two exhaust coming out. Ford had it right and then decided to use the same muffler on everything. If I had the 3.5 L, I would not be complaining because it was always single exhaust. Some one had posted about how they had taken off the Sports current exhaust and even showed pictures. They had a muffler shop make up duals for it. From the pictures it looked good but they were not happy with the sound and were going to purchase and reinstall the stock system because the original was pretty hacked up. Now I cant find that posting. Can someone check their 2011 and let me know what they have for exhaust. For $400 you can purchase an earlier (2011 ?) in one piece and bolt it up. Thanks for any help.

  9.

I ordered my 2012 FORD EDGE SPORT AWD and picked it up December 1, 2011. I recently discovered that the exhaust system from the factory is single exhaust and not true dual exhaust as I was led to believe.

Is this common knowledge and I am the only one that did not know that Ford decided to change their design to a single muffler. I dont know for sure but I bet even the 3.5's have the single muffler.

I am trying to find out if I can order the exhaust from a 2011 and bolt it up. My dealer just says, no there is no subsitution. I am old school and believe duals are two mufflers and two exhaust pipes.

I really like my Sport and it runs good. I just want it to run as well as it can.

From Vegas thanks for reading and yes it is a dry heat.
