  1.

    Hello,
I received my new LED VLEDS is the second generation. I temporarily install the LEDs to make a test and I'm left with the problem of fast flashing. I test with both controller. I remove the 5A fuse and still the same problem. Do you have a solution for me?

Sorry to hear the 2nd generation of the V3 Tritons don’t work any better than the 1st generation, which I tried. The V3s are quite bright and I was hoping they’d fix the problem in the 2nd gen. Please let us know if you resolve the issue.

  2. The funny thing is that it flashes quick only while using the directionals, but if you use the hazard light, pressing the front switch, it flashes normal, and the load is the same in both cases, why doing while quick flashing on the directionals, and while using the hazard light it flashes normal, I do not get it, if they use the same BCM???

The hyper flashing is there to inform the operator that the BCM has detected an anomaly in the turn signal’s circuit. The BCM is a computer and therefore under firmware control. Presumably the designers decided it was more important that the hazard warning indicators should flash at the normal rate over indicating a circuit anomaly.

  3. Well, the whole reason I wanted the V-led type 1's was so I would not need resistors. Everything I've read on here says they are the only true plug-n-play switchys for our Edges. I thought the load resistors were only used to prevent the hyper-flash problem.

I’m not sure which type 1 switchbacks you’ve ordered, but these v-leds work without load resistors in my 2011.

I agree it seems like a contact issue.

  4. I am wondering if the Tritons require the resistor in order to work.

V-Leds sells an assembly for the V3 Tritons called the CLS. It’s supposed to fix the so called “Hyper Flash” problem. My initial order did not include the CLS. However, after calling V-Leds customer support they told me the CLS would fix the problem. I ordered a pair - one for each assembly - it did not help.

The CLS is an aluminum box about 1”x1”x4” and has inside the enclosure a couple of sockets and a 20 watt G4 bulb installed in one of the sockets. They also include an extra 35 watt G4 bulb, neither bulb installed helped.

I tried inserting a 6 ohm, 50 watt resistor in the socket in place of the 20 watt G4 bulb, again, no joy.

  5. You are correct in that you can’t re-install the update.

Regarding your phone not re-connecting, try deleting the phone’s pairing information from the MFT system AND within the phone – then perform the pairing operation anew.

Check your MFT system’s settings page to see if the temperature display setting is enabled, it is configurable, now.

Search this site for info. on the date problem, it has been discussed here and on the syncmyride.com forum.

There is a newer MFT update available (V3.5.1) for download, from here:

    http://www.syncmyride.com/syncmedia/swparts/Gen2v351build12285updatepackageRev3.exe

The above link was copied from TSB12-11-01, which explains the MFT update.

If your car has navigation, you’ll need a new A4 navigation map card to go along with the update; otherwise your navigation will cease to work without it. Currently the A4 map card is only available from a dealer. Apparently, Ford will make the V3.5.1 update available for download from the normal syncmyride.com site beginning Dec. 10th, for those without navigation, and sometime in January 2013 for those with navigation.

  6. “Also, now with my HID's I notice that at night the front turn signals seem to be overpowered by the HIDS and are not as visible as they were, and links on brighter ones for those front lights as well ??”

These look interesting. I’m waiting for a 5k version and some feedback from someone who’s tried them.

  7. I would double check with using that one time CC number for your subscription for auto renewal. I did the same thing last year, and they continue your service and keep trying to bill your CC for it, so in the end you still end up oweing them something if you don't actually cancel the service.

Thanks for the tip Irish. I recently re-subscribed using the one time CC number - thinking they'd give up and cancel the subscription.

  8. The owner’s manual for my 2011 AWD lists the tank capacity at 19.2 gal. I’m frequently able to fill the tank with 18.5 gals. My last fill-up was 18.95 gals. If it’s really 19.2 gal., that’s cutting it way too close. On that occasion, I drove it about 5-10 miles beyond the “0 miles to empty” indication.

  9. I have the newest version on my 11 Limited. When on the home screen, the navigation will only display the compass and stopped displaying the street name. It will still display the street name when on the red entertainment screen in the upper right corner. I tried a master reset, repaired the phone and toggled many times between screen and nav settings. I also removed and reinserted the nav card a few times. Anyone else with this isse and how did you solve it?

Go to the navigation screen, select a destination, start the route, cancel the route, return to the home screen. The street name should re-appear under the compass. This has worked for me and others.

  10. Another successful performance upgrade!

Prior to installing the upgrade, I deleted my phone's info. and performed a system reboot (using the USB reboot method).

After the upgrade, re-pairing my phone was effortless.

I've been using the upgrade several days now and I'm enjoying the improvements that come with the upgrade.

    - Fast MFT startup and a reliable, prompt shutdown.

    - Consistent response time when requesting the voice prompt.

    - The voice recognition seems to be much more reliable. In the past, I've avoided using the voice commands as it was frequently a frustrating process.

    - The LARGER text.

    - Wallpaper on the home screen - a nice touch.

    - Simplified displays. The overall presentation seems more refined.

    - Navigation's overall operation is smoother, faster and looks better.

  11. Just took a look at mine. It's about the same as yours.

On the passenger side, the windshield weather strip completely covers the leading edge of the plastic molded piece, which runs the length of the roof. On the driver's side, the windshield weather strip covers the bottom half of the leading edge of the plastic piece.

Your driver's side plastic seems to have a bit more downward slope towards the Vista glass, than mine. That piece, along its whole length, will flex if you press down on it. I don't know how it's fastened to the roof.

    It's minor inconsistency that I hadn't noticed - so Thanks a Lot!!!

    Just kidding.

I don't have any water leaks, or wind noise, so I won't be looking to have anything done.
